Dear Madam or Sir,
I have had the pleasure of working with Stephan Davies at Lawrence Berkeley National
Laboratory from September 2009 to September 2011 and I highly recommend him for
employment.
During his two years at LBNL, Stephan was responsible for the design of components
and subsystems for several magnet devices installed at Berkeley Lab's Advanced Light Source.
His attention to detail is unsurpassed and his ability to deliver completed designs and drawings is
exemplary. Stephan also took responsibility for the ordering of time-critical long lead items and
diligently tracked the status of those items keeping me informed of delivery date changes. The
system that he created to organize parts as they were delivered greatly increased the efficiency of
the magnet device assembly process.
Stephan quickly learned Parametric Technologies Corporation's One Space Designer
(Creo) CAD software and became a resource to others using this modeling platform. He
developed innovative design solutions by using his expert level CAD skills to generate 3D
models, assemblies and 2D fabrication drawings and documentation.
Companies or organizations fortunate enough to have Stephan as an employee will
benefit greatly from his years of design experience as well as his strong work ethic. On many
occasions, Stephan worked extra hours to meet aggressive deadlines. He works very well
independently and in group situations. He creates supportive and positive working relationships
with co-workers, technicians, vendors and direct management personnel.
Please feel free to contact me if you need additional information.
Sincerely,
r~Karl Petermann
