Introduction
 Security is a most important factor in day to day life. Need of security is the basic
necessity of every individual. The feeling that we are safe and everything around us is all
right is imperative for a peaceful living.
 But in this unsafe world, when crime, terror and threats are on their peak, how can one
attain that sense of security? Here, laser light security alarm system provides us with a
solution.
 For this reason more and more people are installing them in order to stay safe and
secure. Various electronic security systems can be used at home and other important
working places for security and safety purposes.
 A laser light security system using Arduino is an innovative and cost-effective approach
to enhancing security in homes, offices, and other sensitive areas.
 This system leverages the principles of laser light and photoresistor technology to detect
intrusions.
Problem Statement
 Increased Need for Security: Growing crime rates highlight the necessity
for advanced security measures.
 Existing Security Systems: Common systems include Closed-Circuit
Television (CCTV) and alarms.
 Drawback of Visible Systems: Traditional systems are often visible, which
can alert potential intruders and lead them to circumvent or disable these
security measures.
 Project Goal: To improve security by utilizing Internet of Things (IoT)
technology, aiming to create less detectable and more effective
security solutions.
Objective
 The objective of this research is to design and construct a simple security system
using Arduino that will be used to detect intrusion or unauthorized entry into an
area.
 The main objective of this project is to design a security system that uses a laser
beam to detect unauthorized access or movement. When the laser beam is
interrupted, the Arduino triggers an alarm to alert you to the intrusion.
 Additionally, the system sends notifications, such as messages or alerts, to inform
you of the security breach in real time, enhancing overall security
and responsiveness.
 This laser light security system offers a cost-effective and reliable solution for
real-time security monitoring, suitable for various applications including home
security, offices, and restricted areas.
 The modular design allows for easy customization and scalability, making it
adaptable to different security requirements.

2023 Laser diode generates the laser
beam which continuously strikes
over the Light dependent resister
sensors. When any person
crosses the path, it inhibits laser
to reach LDR and the sensor
generate a low which is read by
controller to power on the buzzer.

2019 At first, the laser light or laser
radiation goes to reflector or
simply mirror which reflect the
radiation of laser it into the LDR.
In these case the LDR sense the
light intensity and if light
intensity is not fall on the surface
of LDR than it will starts to beep
from buzzer at the same time the
LED also starts glowing.

2024 The laser security alarm system
detects unauthorized entry using
a laser diode and photo detector.
When the laser beam is
interrupted, the photo detector
signals the microcontroller,which
displays the breach on an LCD
and sends an alert to the user via
a GSM module.

the single-pole singlethrow
(SPST) push button switch and
any object such as plastics,
glass, paper, body parts, etc. If
the SPST push button switch is
pressed, the LED 2 will turn
on as a sign that the LDR is
activated and once the laser

turn on. LEDs 3 and 4 will turn
on and blink alternately.

Methodology
Figure 1: Circuit Diagram
Working Principle:
 Initial State: The laser diode emits a laser beam, which is continuously
detected by the LDR sensor.
 Triggering the System: When an intruder interrupts the laser beam, the
LDR sensor detects a change in light intensity. This change is sent as a
signal to the Arduino.
 Alarm Activation: Upon receiving the signal from the LDR, the Arduino
activates the buzzer to sound an alarm.
 Sending Notification: The Arduino also sends a command to the GSM
module to send an SMS notification to a predefined phone number.
Figure 2 : Flow chart
Result
 When the laser beam is interrupted (e.g., by an intruder), the LDR sensor
detects the change.
 The Arduino responds by sounding the buzzer for 2 seconds and sending an
SMS alert to the specified phone number through the GSM module.
 The system continuously monitors the laser beam and responds to
interruptions accordingly, providing both audible and remote notifications of
security breaches.
Applications
A laser light security system using Arduino with alarm and notification features has
several practical applications. Here are a few:
1.Home Security
 Detect unauthorized entry by placing laser beams at entry points like doors and
windows.
 Trigger an alarm and send notifications to the homeowner's phone if the beam is
interrupted.
2. Office and Business Security
 Secure sensitive areas like server rooms, storage areas, or restricted zones.
 Immediate alert to security personnel or the business owner when an intrusion is
detected.
3.Warehouse Security
 Monitor large areas for unauthorized access.
 Notification system can alert security teams in real-time to respond promptly.
Conclusion
 In this project, we successfully designed and implemented a laser light security
system using an Arduino Uno, a laser diode module, an LDR sensor, a buzzer,
and a GSM module.
 This system effectively detects intrusions by monitoring the interruption of a
laser beam and provides immediate alerts through both an audible alarm and a
text message notification.
 This project demonstrates the practical application of Arduino-based systems in
home and office security.
 The combination of real-time local alarms and remote notifications provides a
robust solution for intrusion detection.
 The project showcases the potential for further enhancements and integrations,
making it a valuable foundation for more advanced security systems.
Future Scope
 Identification: We can implement a person identification system like face-recognition
and fingerprint scanning features in the future
 Various Applications: This type of system can be used in antique/expensive items
protections or for various other security purposes.
 Renewable Power Supply: We can also provide renewable energy sources like solar
power to power this system.
 It can be implemented by adding camera, when laser detects anything, it will take a
picture those taken pictures can be sent to the mobile
 In upcoming generation, it is used not only to detect the entering the person but it can
also be used with programmed, that it will give notification that the object or person is
fled and also can able to recognize the human as well as animals and also object.
