Language is like a Cake.pptx
1. My name is Sherry Mie M. Somobay. I enrolled in Certificate of
Teaching at University of Science and Technology of Southern
Philippines to fulfill my childhood dream profession to become
a teacher. For me to be a teacher is my calling. Since I love to
bring change in someone’s life. Language is like a cake. The
truth is that language is not the most appetizing of all like cakes.
Like a slice of cake, language has restrictions. It doesn't always
taste great. Language is cake, meaning that language must be
presented well to be liked. Like the cake is made from different
ingredients, in language we use words, grammar, punctuation,
intonation, accent, correct tenses, connectors to deliver clear
interaction.
2. I think this metaphor signifies that the language is a
comprehensive system of interaction, but it should be served in
attractive way to students. No one will take a slice of cake if it is
served untidy, shattered, or not appealing, they will be hesitant
to take and eat it. Just like a baker who prepared the cake that
is tasty, and appealing, the teachers must prepare the lesson in
English language well, arranged, clear, understandable, and
enjoyable that catches the student’s attention or focus. I am
taking the course for me to be knowledgeable about the
language and its foundational principles. To be determined in
learning and teaching the language and how to impart it to my
future students that will look appealing and make them focus.
Moreover, to be more confident in using the English language
in writing or in speech.
