2. Local Area Network
Local Area Networks, or LANs, are a type of network that allows two or more devices to
communicate directly with each other.
In the early days of LANs, this was accomplished by using some kind of shared medium. Like- a
coaxial cable, fiber optic links attached to a passive optical star, etc. Each connected device
implements some sort of arbitration protocol such that one and only one device can transmit at a
time.
Objectives
• Build a Local Area Network for any office in a building or any floor of the building.
• Build a secure network system for any school, colleges or a small office.

3. Configure of LAN
• Then take some pc and give them a unique Ip address.
• Take a switch & connect every pc with the switch.
• Make this network in a building or a group of building in a short distance.
• Now transfer data with anyone.
