This document discusses an alternative approach to accessing lower incisor root canals through a labial rather than lingual approach. The author details how over 10 years of using microscopy for root canal treatments, they found the traditional lingual approach provided poor visualization of the root canal system in lower incisors. Research from 1985 onward supported a more labial orientation for straight-line access to canals. In the author's practice, all lower incisors are now treated with labial access, which has provided excellent results with no patient complaints. The author hopes sharing this experience will help other clinicians achieve better endodontic outcomes.
