2. Il COMPUTER o

3. - Hardware: struttura fisica del computer;
- Software: insieme di tutti i programmi, i comandi
che sono necessari all’hardware per elaborare le
informazioni.
4. Le unità periferiche di ingresso (input) consentono
all’utente di inserire dati e istruzioni, mentre le unità
periferiche di uscita (output) consentono di
visualizzare i messaggi e i risultati che provengono dal
computer.
Esempi di input:
- mouse;
- tastiera.
Esempi di output:
- stampante;
- monitor.
5. La memoria centrale o principale è un unità interna al
computer in grado di conservare delle informazioni.
Si divide in :
- RAM (Random Access Memory);
- ROM (Read Only Memory).
6. Un qualsiasi elaboratore per poter funzionare deve
essere dotato dell’opportuno software. Esso può essere
suddiviso in:
- Software di base: funzionamento della macchina
- Software applicativo: esigenze dell’utente
7. Il byte indica la quantità di memoria necessaria per
indicare un simbolo (carattere, cifra….). La memoria
centrale è suddivisa in celle ciascuna delle quali è
adibita a contenere un’informazione di 8 BIT, cioè un
BYTE.
8. I multipli del byte più usati sono: Kilobyte
(Kb), Megabyte (Mg) e Gigabyte (Gb)
- 1 Kilobyte (1024 byte)
- 1 Megabyte (1024 Kilobyte)
- 1 Gigabyte (1024 Megabyte)
9. Sono dispositivi di inputoutput su cui si possono
memorizzare i dati e i programmi dell’utente in modo
permanente. I più comuni sono:
- Nastro magnetico;
- Disco magnetico;
- Disco ottico .
10. Tutte le informazioni immagazzinate nella memoria di
un computer sono espressi sotto forma di numeri del
sistema binario, cioè 0 e 1. Ciascuna cifra binaria viene
detta Bit, da Binary digit . Il bit è l’informazione
minima che il computer può trattare. Gruppi di 8 Bit
formano 1 Byte.
