Intro to Git
Linus Torvalds created Git as a distributed revision control system after needing an alternative to BitKeeper for the Linux kernel project. Git allows independent and distributed control over versions of files without needing a central server. Popular projects like Twitter, Facebook, and CakePHP use Git due to its fast and distributed nature. Source code, documents, images and other files can be stored in Git repositories. Basic Git workflows involve cloning or initializing a repository, making changes, committing changes locally, merging conflicts if any, and pushing changes to a remote repository.
Life at Twitter + Career Advice for Students

Some key differences are GNOME 3's use of Clutter for animations and the GNOME Shell interface. Tools like Zeitgeist and the Activity Journal aim to help with managing complexity, finding information, and reminding users of tasks. Zeitgeist in particular logs events to provide context based on files, time, and location used. While the Activity Journal was initially rejected, Zeitgeist integration into GNOME is ongoing work toward GNOME 3.2.
The Puppet Community: Current State and Future Plans
This session starts with a look at the Puppet community today. I use our community metrics to take a look at all kinds of data about pull requests, bugs, mailing lists, IRC and more. In addition to the numbers, I'll also talk about some of our top contributors. We also have much to do to make the community better, so we'll talk about some plans for improvements that we'll be making to the Puppet community.
Python, the next Brazilian generation
Python for Zombies MOOC is the first brazilian MOOC to teach programming. With a team made up of three folks and no budget, we have reached 42.000 enrollments in two years of activity. After having taken the course, some former girl students even founded the first PyLadies groups in Brazil. There are a lot of Massive Open Online Courses that teach programming in Python (Coursera, Edx, Udacity), but only 5% of the Brazilian people are fluent in English. For this reason, the Brazilian Python community took the initiative to develop the first MOOC to teach programming in Portuguese. The initiative of this MOOC does not come from the University where I am a professor.

PyCon Taiwan and PyCon APAC have been held annually since 2012 and 2014 respectively to bring together Python developers in Taiwan and Asia Pacific. The PyCon APAC/TW 2015 conference will take place from June 3-9, 2015 in Taipei, Taiwan. The PyCon APAC/TW committee is seeking sponsors and volunteers to help make it a successful event for the Python community.

The introduction of DLAU and the CCB & CCX licensing model caused quite a stir in the HCL community. Power Grid Model
The global energy transition is placing new and unprecedented demands on Distribution System Operators (DSOs). Alongside upgrades to grid capacity, processes such as digitization, capacity optimization, and congestion management are becoming vital for delivering reliable services.
Power Grid Model is an open source project from Linux Foundation Energy and provides a calculation engine that is increasingly essential for DSOs. It offers a standards-based foundation enabling real-time power systems analysis, simulations of electrical power grids, and sophisticated what-if analysis. In addition, it enables in-depth studies and analysis of the electrical power grid’s behavior and performance. This comprehensive model incorporates essential factors such as power generation capacity, electrical losses, voltage levels, power flows, and system stability.
Power Grid Model is currently being applied in a wide variety of use cases, including grid planning, expansion, reliability, and congestion studies. It can also help in analyzing the impact of renewable energy integration, assessing the effects of disturbances or faults, and developing strategies for grid control and optimization.
