Kuldeep Manak was a Punjabi singer born in 1951 in Punjab, India. He started singing professionally at age 17 and gained success with his unique use of the tumbi instrument in his songs. Manak sang many songs about Punjabi history and culture that were important to preserving Punjabi traditions. He died in 2011 at age 62 of a heart attack. Manak had a large influence on Punjabi music and culture through his iconic songs.
