Appendix – Sample Project Work

Fixed Price Data Conversion
• Specialty Metals Corp. (SMC) upgraded its existing ERP system to Oracle EBS 11.5.10.2
• It was imperative to build to a platform for data migration with some pre-determined requirements set up
 Standard costing methodology with extensions
 Incorporation of PCC (holding company) chart of accounts
 Common application platform
• Krome Technical team worked with functional leaders / business users to create the technical architecture to
define roadmap for business requirements.
• Evaluative exercises like data mapping, analysis of master and transactional data , selection criteria of data to be
converted were finalized and got approved from the client.
• Leveraging Krome’s in-house built “Data Conversion Toolkit”, data conversion for 20+ components carried out
using Oracle standard APIs & Interfaces. A custom validation program generates report for data validation
which was verified with client prior to data conversion into target system.
• To add transparency, post conversion an independent assessment of converted data took place to gauge the
successful completion of the activity.
• The data conversion process was extremely successful with 99.5% success rate
• The entire project including design, build, UAT, 3 iterations of data conversion, Production conversion and
week of post go-live support was executed in less than $150K budget.

Oracle EBS Support & Enhancement
• Dunkin’ Brands, Inc. is a premier quick service restaurant franchisor with a leading position in the coffee, bakery
and ice cream segments of the QSR category. It has been rolling out Oracle EBS applications in a phased approach
over the last several years.
• Due to qualified resource constraints, cost, lack of onsite/offshore model leverage, and less than optimum
processes, it was challenging for the customer to engage a long term application support and maintenance
partner.
• Krome's role was to support various business groups with day to day business process and technology challenges
related to Oracle EBS, third party, and in-house legacy systems.
• Krome offered flexible approach with resource based model in initial years of the engagement and over a period
of time, converting it to milestone based model.
• Besides tackling day to day defects and issues, Krome team was also involved heavily in improving some critical
business processes adopted during the implementation phase. Examples: Automation of lease end reconciliation
process, FA bonus and depreciation process, AR late charges and custom dunning process, etc. which was
verified with client prior to data conversion into target system.
• As a result of efficient defect resolution, improved business processes, flexible and milestone based model, the
consulting support team size has reduced significantly, bringing the support cost down by over 40 percent year
over year.

Oracle BI Applications Implementation
• Gentex Corporation is a global, high technology Electronics company.
• Although Gentex use ERP system but due to the cluttered reporting system across different locations, it was
difficult to review the heaps of data into an abstract form for analytical purpose.
• To overcome the business challenge, Oracle Business Intelligence Application (OBIA) – Procurement & Spend
Analytics was chosen
• To make the implementation process smooth and efficient and save on time and cost ,we provided out of box
solution to Gentex
• We performed "Fit Gap" exercise for customizations to be implemented in the source application
• We developed a rapid implementation template to:
 Provide single point of interface to check configuration flow
 Minimize the configuration process iteration
 Aid and accelerate interpersonal communication between Blink and client IT team
• Assisted in determining the architecture of BI components with respect to IT infrastructure
• Solution delivered:
 Easy and readily accessible data, in the context of the “Big Picture”
 Data presented in a detailed and interpretable manner
 Spend Trends - by suppliers / items / deliver to (from) locations
 Data can now be constructed, shared and stored easily, i.e. managers, production, engineers, meetings, etc.
• The project was completed within 12 weeks

Process Improvement for BOM and Inventory Management
• Honda of America Mfg. Inc. operates four of Honda’s five manufacturing plants in Ohio
• Although Engineers have to create multiple Bill of Materials per day and requisition components from their
suppliers. Over 300 engineers needed a tool to maintain the Bills of Materials and Items in an efficient manner.
The requirement was also for real-time transaction processing and validation. Legacy IBR (Items, BOM,
Requisitions) solution wasn’t flexible.
• Consulting team developed custom application - IBR to create Items, BOM and Requisitions
• The IBR extension is a one stop application for:
 Automatic creating / updating the item , if doesn’t exists in Inventory
 Automatic creating / updating BOM
 Releasing requisitions
 Integration with Requisitions including sending file attachments
 Real-time transaction processing and validation
• Provide User Interface to create/edit BOM and show error and validation on IBR form
• Bulk upload data using Microsoft Excel file in pre-defined format
• Release items for requisition and Status Tracking
• Built using Oracle Forms
• Handy features like folder control, and attachments
• Robust to handle large number of concurrent users
• The project was completed within 12 weeks

Custom Application Development using APEX
• Honda of Special Metals Corp. partnered with Krome to design, develop and deploy a custom Shop Floor System
to address key pressing business challenges:
 Real time tracking of WIP
 Access operational procedures for quality and safety instructions
 Ability to provide special instructions to shop-floor user
 Create new operation real time
 Move material for multiple jobs at the same time
 Integrated with Oracle eBusiness Suite
• The new custom application is developed in Oracle Application Express ; a no cost tool provided by Oracle
to develop the web based applications.
• The custom applications provides functionality:
 Inventory visibility of materials and costing of resources on real time basis
 Recording of quality information at the point of execution
 Attachments at WIP jobs
 Various interactive reports
 Ability to email error directly to support team
• The application is developed under $100 K budget
• This highly successful and well-adopted application, initially deployed at one manufacturing plant, is currently being
developed and deployed at sixteen (16) additional manufacturing plants.
