The Legend of Zelda I
 With minimal pixels
used (around sixteen)
Nintendo was able to
create a memorable
Hero.
 Link has had the same
signature trademark
green hat and matching
tunic since The Legend
of Zelda was created.
 Minimal alterations
have been made since
then.
 This title was quite different then it’s
predecessor.
 The top-down perspective stayed while they
added a side view during action sequences.
 With the larger sprites, Nintendo was able to
develop distinctive pointed elf ears on Link.
In 1991 Nintendo created the first
Zelda game to be visually appealing.
Because of the advancement in
technology, Nintendo was able to
create an atmosphere and emotions
they couldn’t do in the eighties.
OoT - TLoZ1
 In 1998, The Legend of
Zelda: Ocarina of Time
was released.
 In the past the rest of the
LoZ’s had been a 2D world
while Ocarina was the first
3D adventure they created
for this series.
 2007 marked the beginning of a new era for
Nintendo, Twilight Princess was released.
 The graphics in Twilight Princess were
incredibly detailed compared to past LoZ
games.
 Even with all the visual changes to the
landscapes and surroundings, Link continued
to be the same elfish looking hero with the
green hat and matching tunic.
 After 25 years of the series, the latest entry
was Skyward Sword.
 The core of Zelda hasn’t changed much, but
this is what makes this series such a classic.
 Next in line of these prestigious games, new
features were added including;
 1:1 sword control
 Flight based mechanics
 After 25 years of games, visual effects have
changed; advancing from 2D to 3D, then by
2007 added with motion sensing
requirements.
 Though the story was much the same, the
nostalgia made the games successful.
 These games are indeed a “legend”.
