Krishna and Balaram effortlessly defeat and kill Kamsa's wrestlers in a match arranged by Kamsa. Enraged by his wrestlers' defeat, Kamsa orders that Krishna, Balaram, and the cowherd boys be killed. Krishna then confronts and kills Kamsa. Kamsa is celebrated for attaining liberation and the same form as Lord Narayana upon death, having spent his life thinking of Krishna. Krishna then releases his parents Vasudeva and Devaki from imprisonment.
