Using existing oil and gas resources from the Jubilee and TEN fields in Ghana can help close the country's power gap by 2017 through four infrastructure investments totaling $850 million. This will generate reliable and cheap power for 15 years by supplying gas from these fields to new and existing power plants. It will also increase Ghana's oil and gas production and revenues while providing a stable gas supply to Tema.

Tennessee alone could develop over 1,200 MW of CHP capacity by converting existing industrial boilers.

As the subsurface safety valve was being pulled out of the well, it became stuck in the Xmas tree, blocking the upper swab valve and leaving only one barrier preventing hydrocarbon outflow from the well. After re-establishing additional well barriers, the investigation found issues with risk assessment, well barrier management, and inadequate contingency planning for equipment getting stuck that contributed to the incident. Improvements were identified regarding safety, expertise, well barrier documentation, and securing toolstrings.

RESERVOIRS IN DEVELOPMENT OF UNCONVENTIONAL PAKISTAN

The Indian government aims to scale up domestic coal gasification to 100 million tons by 2030, which would require large investments but make India more self-reliant for fuel and chemicals while utilizing its natural resources more optimally for long-term economic growth. Key challenges to coal gasification in India include availability of suitable technology and quality coal, as well as high capital costs.
