Goodle Developer Days Munich 2008 - Open Social UpdatePatrick Chanezon
Updates about the OpenSocial ecosystem at Google developer days Munich, including presentations from Xing, Lokalisten, netlog and Viadeo..
OpenSocial is an open specification defining a common API that works on many different social websites, including MySpace, Plaxo, Hi5, Ning, orkut, Friendster Salesforce.com and LinkedIn, among others. This allows developers to learn one API, then write a social application for any of those sites: Learn once, write anywhere.
In addition, in order to make it easier for developers of social sites to implement the API and make their site an OpenSocial container, the Apache project Shindig provides reference implementations for OpenSocial containers in two languages (Java, PHP). Shindig will define a language specific Service Provider Interface (SPI) that a social site can implement to connect Shindig to People, Persistence and Activities backend services for the social site. Shindig will then expose these services as OpenSocial JavaScript and REST APIs.
In this session we will explain what OpenSocial is, show examples of OpenSocial containers and applications, demonstrate how to create an OpenSocial application, and explain how to leverage Apache Shindig in order to implement an OpenSocial container.
Learn how to deconstruct what it means to be "Open," as well as how to engage developers, leverage users, and shape your data to make your platform ready for commercial use.

AD306 - Turbocharge Your Enterprise Social Network With AnalyticsVincent Burckhardt
Social is generating large volumes of data about the business (who interacts with whom, when, and in what context). However, little of this data is being actively leveraged in order to generate insights that allow the business to work smarter and faster. This technical session describes how to capture and collect interactions within IBM Connections through its public APIs and apply a variety of analytics, including map/reduce and graph analytics, on a scalable Hadoop platform. This allows us to uncover insights into what the corporate network structure looks like, how information propagates across the organization, how are opinions formed, and how resilient is the organization to attrition.

Partner Webinar: Deliver Big Data Apps Faster With Informatica & MongoDBMongoDB
Informatica + MongoDB is a powerful combination that increases developer productivity up to 5x, enabling them to build and deploy big data applications much faster. Informatica provides access to virtually all types of data from modern and legacy systems at any latency, processes and integrates data at scale, and delivers it directly into MongoDB.
With Informatica, companies can unlock the data in MongoDB for downstream analytics to improve decision making and business operations. Using the Informatica PowerCenter Big Data Edition with the PowerExchange for MongoDB adapter users can read and write data in MongoDB, parse the JSON-based documents and then transform the data and combine it with other information for big data analytics - all without having to write a single line of code.
In this webinar you will see a live demo and learn how to:
- Discover insights from Big Data faster
- Run better applications with better data
- Lower costs of data integration
- Deliver business impact with rapid deployment

Targeted Marketing: How Marketing Companies can use Big Data to Target Custom...Ray Février
This presentation will show how an outdoor advertising company used the Oracle Big Data environment to provide real time statistics and high-value insights to their customers. Using data from providers such as Pinsight Media and Perconix data from Axciom, they are able to accurately show the demographics of the consumers in the viewshed of their billboards and other digital assets. With the need to get useful information out of the terabyte of data they were receiving, our client use Oracle BDCS, specifically, Hive to create external tables connecting to flat files or MongoDB and Impala to analyze the data. The data was then loaded into Oracle DBCS for to be accessed by OACS for further analysis and dashboarding.
Creating designs that will respond and work with multiple browser and device types has become more and more important. In this session we will examine the concepts behind Responsive Design and how you can and should apply them to SharePoint.
