This document discusses a case involving an 18-year-old female patient, JJ, who was diagnosed with a tic disorder by a neurologist but may have had a conversion disorder or PTSD instead. JJ presented with uncontrollable twitching on her right side that was exacerbated by stress. Her treatment involved holistic psychotherapy with an emphasis on establishing trust and strengthening her ego through hypnosis and a supportive therapeutic relationship. Over time, her symptoms improved, bringing her diagnosis into question.
