The silver fern is special to New Zealand. This fern is on
the All Blacks flag and uniform which is black and white.
This fern grows in the New Zealand bush. It looks like a
scar in the middle. It is spiky.

Tomato sauce bottles are special to New Zealand.
But most of all I like the green lid and it is red
plastic. It’s like a real tomato shape. I use the
bottle to squeeze delicious sauce on my chicken
nuggets.
By Jasdeep
When you go bungy jumping you need to tie a
rope on your foot and you need to stand on a
cliff. You will be so close to the water it will be
very high. I think it would be scary when you
need to start with your head because if you don’t
you will flip. Lots of visitors to New Zealand like
to do a bungy jump. By Cassandra
Pineapple lumps are special crunchy chocolate treats from
New Zealand. They look like plain milk chocolate on the
outside but inside it’s yellow and crunchy. If you put them
in the fridge they go hard. Some people eat them for
special occasions because its special to New Zealand. I like
pineapple lumps because they are crunchy and chocolaty.
By Connor
Bees are what we need. New Zealand loves them. So a
person not just one person makes toy bees. Did you know
that bees are so amazing, also so brilliant that they can suck
up the nectar and go to the beehive and then another bee
comes out, then they get their long tongue and put the
nectar in the hive. When Prince William was a baby he had a
toy buzzy bee from New Zealand. It is made out of wood. I
bet he had fun with it. By Asher
New Zealand is
just a bit famous
for cool cricket.
We can play cool
cricket at the
sandy beach and
other countries
can’t because they
aren’t close to the
blue sparkly sea
and New Zealand
is. In cool cricket
you have to hit
the red ball with
the brown bat and
get some runs. I
like cricket
because I can play
it at the beach.
By Charlie
Somebody is putting his tent pegs in the ground and
somebody is putting his tent up. I would feel sad if there
were no tents. Lots of people like camping at the beach in the
summer. By Tommy

juicy. I think that kiwi fruit is delicious. Kiwi fruit is
my favourite fruit because its green. Kiwi fruit is
healthy for you.

New Zealand is very famous for our cute and cuddly Kiwis. Kiwis
have a long and pointy beak, long feathers, small wings, two eyes
and two nostrils. Kiwis snuggle up in their burrow when they want
to sleep. Kiwis eat long and juicy worms. They sleep all day and
they’re awake all night. I feel very sad that there aren’t many
kiwis left but really all that matters is that they are not extinct.
By Holly
Pohutukawa trees only
bloom at Christmas time.
The Pohutukawa tree has
green leaves and red
flowers and brown
branches. Native
Pohutukawa trees are very
special to New Zealand. I
feel very happy for
Pohutukawa trees because
they look colourful at the
beach and parks.
By Emma
Koru patterns are
special to New
Zealand because
Maori people used
koru patterns a lot
and Maori people
live in New Zealand.
Koru patterns can
make people
interested when
they walk in the
forest. The koru
pattern can be
swirly. I feel so
proud about koru
patterns that I can’t
pick another
favourite plant.
By Maia

It is surprising that New Zealand is famous for pavlovas
because of the Kiwi fruit and sometimes the outside of the
pavlovas is a little bit sticky. Also when you eat the delicious
pavlova it’s a little bit crunchy. I think the pavlova is
delicious and yummy and scrumptious. I have pavlova for
my birthday.
By Riya
New Zealand is famous for colourful gumboots because we created
them for farmers. Gumboots are for farmers because the famers live
on farms and the farms get muddy over winter. They can keep the
water off them and your feet don’t get really muddy and wet.
Gumboots are really helpful to New Zealand and really helpful to
farmers. This month it is winter. The gumboots look beautiful because
they should. My gumboots have jandals on them. By Elizabeth
Chocolate fish are the things that you might find in a dairy.

really tasty and frizzy
and bubbly. L and P
looks so yummy and
it is yummy. L and P

shaved. They use the Sheeps cuddly wool to make woolly
jumpers and things. I love Sheep. By Charlee Larsen.
Barbecues are special to New Zealand. Barbecues can cook
yummy sausages. If you do not connect a gas bottle to the
barbecue it won’t work because barbecues need gas to work.
I think New Zealand is lucky to have barbecues. Barbecues
are really hot and smoky. Barbecues are big and black. When
you cook on a barbecue it sizzles and spits a lot because the
inside of the barbecues are hot. I have barbecues at my
house in the summer. By Ethan
