A fairy's power is stored in their wings, meaning that if their wings are hurt their magical ability is decreased dramatically, to the point of preventing them from using even their most basic of abilities, making for a surprisingly crippling weakness. For example, fairies with damaged wings are unable to size-shift, and are stuck at their current size until their wings have healed, although healing occurs quickly in Fairyland. A fairy (also faery, faerie, fay, fae; euphemistically wee folk, good folk, people of peace, fair folk, etc.) is a type of mythical being or legendary creature,a form of spirit, often described as metaphysical , supernatural or preternatural. Fairies resemble various beings of other mythologies, though even folklore that uses the term fairy offers many definitions. Sometimes the term describes any magical creature, including goblins or gnomes: at other times, the term only describes a specific type of more ethereal creature.

4. Ice fairies (also known as winter fairies) make ice and snow and bring winter to the mainland. They only live in the Winter Woods because warm temperatures would damage their wings. They are the only ones to bring winter to the Mainland, since other nature fairies (eg, light, garden, animal and water fairies), bring the other three seasons.
5. Downstream from the dust mill, Havendish Stream branches into a network of canals where the water fairies like to play. Water-talent fairies can manipulate water in astonishing ways. They mold it like clay, make it freeze or boil, or create powerful waves in puddles and ponds with just a flick of pixie dust . Water fairies are often found exploring Pixie Hollow’s waterways in boats made from leaves and in birch-bark canoes. These fairies also have a knack for divining and can seek out hidden sources of water. Only water-talent fairies can make bubble messages, which burst open only for the fairy who is meant to hear them. The most emotional of the Never fairies, water fairies cry when they're happy as well as when they're sad. But they can hardly be blamed - they are so full of water their tears spill easily. Although water fairies cannot swim, they always find ways to frolic near water.
6. Like harvest- and tree-picking-talent fairies, garden fairies spend most of their time outdoors. Their colorful gardens can be seen in all corners of Pixie Hollow . Garden-talent fairies have a special relationship with all things that grow from the earth. They can sense what a plant needs and have an intuitive understanding of how to help it blossom and grow. They feel as close to plants as animal-talent fairies feel to animals. But garden fairies have been known to work with animals, too. They sometimes train earthworms and ladybugs to help them, and they are highly respectful of bumblebees.
7. Although Mother Dove is dear to all who live in Pixie Hollow, the ones who know and understand her best are the animal-talent fairies. These fairies have the unique ability to speak with any animal in its native tongue, whether it be Raccoon, Bird, Tree Frog, or Squirrel. They are extremely sensitive and can "read" an animal's thoughts or emotions. They know when an animal is frightened or sick and can tend to its needs to help it feel better. Like the animals they work with, animal-talent fairies have a keen sense of smell and excellent hearing. They are skilled trackers and are frequently called upon to help find fairies who have lost their way in the woods. All animal talent fairies are deeply integrated into Never Land’s animal world and strive to keep it harmonious.
8. Light fairies are very skilled at light. They glow brighter than any other fairy (perhaps aside from dust-talent fairies). They can manipulate and move light for various purposes, including moving sunbeams and giving fireflies their glow. Light fairies are quick-witted and literally "bright" fairies. They are perfectionists who love to be in the spotlight. Another special skill these fairies have is the ability to create rainbows.
9. Tinker fairies fix everything in Pixie Hollow using a strange array of tools. Tinker-talent fairies are curious, love metallic colors, and use their magic to aid in the repair of the pots and pans of Pixie Hollow. In the films they don't just fix things - they also invent and create special tools to help the nature fairies on the Mainland
10. Dust fairies process and ration out pixie dust to the other fairies. This is an extremely important job - without pixie dust fairies couldn't fly or use their magical talents. Dust fairies never sneeze, lest they blow away any precious dust.
11. Wind fairies can fly faster than any other fairy or creature in Pixie Hollow. Their wings are much wider and bigger than the other fairies in Pixie Hollow, which allows them to fly faster. When changing the seasons in the films, they control the wind to take pollen out of flowers. They also control the wind to guide new arrivals to Pixie Hollow.
12. This species of fairy can be mostly found in the misty glade and parts of the mist ocean. If most fairies are good at illusions, then mist fairies are masters of it. From creating mirages to altering the senses, all of their illusions look incredibly real. The first spell a mist fairy ever learns is duplication. They use it almost constantly, often without even thinking about it. The duplicates look so real that sometimes you can't even tell if the mist fairy before you is the original or not. Mist Fairies know very well about this confusion of course, and take advantage of it : they might use a double to scare the living daylights out of a poor adventurer by fake-eating him, or they might play some practical jokes on him, or both. The double is not just an image though : it can speak, see, hear, and, if the fairy is really skilled, fight and cast magic as well. There are even cases where mist fairies have been seen creating doubles of themselves to solve a problem, with each of the copies thinking about a different aspect of the problem. The ability to duplicate makes mist fairies powerful indeed, but fortunately they are one of the less aggressive and dangerous species to humans on Felarya. The magical mist where they live sustains them, so a mist fairy will never get really hungry as long as they remain in the mist. Although this doesn't make an encounter with them perfectly safe, it gives them a rather good reputation among adventurers. If they leave the mist however, they become just as hungry as other fairies, and even more dangerous because of their skill at illusions. Unfortunately for adventurers everywhere, Mist Fairies are curious and adventurous by nature, and are sometimes seen very far from their nourishing mists...
13. Flower Fairies are tiny creatures (the biggest is only 20cm tall) that live in the bottom of gardens, the middle of grassy meadows, and on the edge of distant marshes. Wherever and whenever a seed sprouts, a Flower Fairy baby is born. Each Flower Fairy lives and sleeps in their chosen flower, plant or tree, and as this grows the fairy grows too. Each and every Flower Fairy is in charge of looking after their flower or plant; keeping it strong and healthy by making sure it has plenty of sunshine and water to drink, sweeping away dead leaves, and polishing flowers and stems. 14. Beautiful Wild Cherry can be spotted peeping through her delicate blooms in early Springtime. Although rather shy, Wild Cherry has many friends among the Flower Fairies of the trees, and one of their favorite games is hide and seek high up in the treetops!
15. Almond Blossom is a wonderful sight in her dress crafted from beautiful pink petals. When the other fairies see her dancing and gliding through the branches they know it's almost Springtime! Happy and fun-loving, Almond Blossom is everyone's friend.
16. Lavender loves to sing and play. One of her favorite things to do is twirl around and around a lavender stem until she feels quite dizzy! She is friends with the white butterflies that flutter around her flowers, and they often play games of chase, darting back and forth amongst her sweetly scented fronds. She provides her scented flowers to the other fairies to make their clothes smell delicious.
17. Sweet Rose is the gentlest of the summer Flower Fairies. A kind fairy, she likes nothing more than tiptoeing around her flowers and tending to them in the warm sunshine. She is a very good friend to the honey bees and is often seen guiding them to her fullest blooms and standing protectively beside them as they collect pollen.
18. Zinnia's flowers are some of the brightest in the garden, with their blooms ranging from pale pink to dramatic orange! With her tortoiseshell wings Zinnia is a colorful sight as she flutters around the flower bed, tending to her blooms and collecting petals to make pretty costumes.
19. Outgoing and friendly, Buttercup likes nothing better than to skip through the summer meadows, visiting friends and singing to herself in the sunshine. She fills the fields with her yellow flowers, which she polishes until they shine like gold, which give pleasure to all her fairy friends and human children too.
