The killer whale, or orca, is a large, black-and-white marine mammal that lives in pods in oceans around the world. Males can reach 30 feet in length and weigh up to 6 tons, making the orca one of the largest members of the dolphin family. Killer whales hunt fish, squid, seals, and even other whales using their pointed teeth and ability to throw prey weighing hundreds of pounds into the air.
