ENGINEERED PUMP REPAIR
Upon arrival at Kennedy Industries by one of our 15 trucks, your engineered pump will be carefully inspected by our
experienced journeyman mechanics. The pump will be disassembled, cleaned and sandblasted, and all critical
components measured dimensionally to determine repair requirements and potential upgrades. Our journeyman
machinists maintain precise tolerances with our high speed CNC turning centers and our extensive inventory of raw
materials. This allows us to minimize lead times and enhance our emergency service response. Kennedy Industries also
has over 15 different machines that allow us to make all the necessary repairs to your pump and parts. Kennedy Indus-
tries has personnel that are certified in CAD and SolidWorks and will re-engineer and recreate any parts that need to be
repaired or produced in our shop. Kennedy Industries performs all these activities in our facilities reducing lead times,
cost and ensures the highest quality for the customer. Kennedy Industries also offers state-of-the-art upgrades on all
pump manufactures with different designs and composite materials. Kennedy Industries has achieved many success
stories over the years and has maintained customers for decades.
Repair Service

Your submersible pump will be carefully inspected by our experienced mechanics. Our submersible repair facility at
Kennedy Industries is over 40,000 square feet and is equipped to handle any type of repair required. We have an
oven designated exclusively for baking stators to ensure there is no moisture in the windings and insulation.
Kennedy will make all the necessary repairs to all damaged and worn parts and restore them to OEM
specifications through certified welding, hard chrome plating, tungsten carbide coating, machining, precision grinding,
seal face lapping and many other in-house processes. Kennedy takes pride in the “little things” that mean a lot to us and
our customers. Items like sandblasting all parts to bare metal to provide for a quality finish paint, balancing the impeller
beyond OEM specifications and providing a failure analysis so that repairs can be avoided in the future are all standard
for each repair. Your pump running better than new is our goal and the customers expectation.

Kennedy Industries employs the finest field service technicians in the
industry that are skilled and equipped to address all of your on-site needs.
We offer a broad range of services that allows us to troubleshoot the largest
pump at a power plant, to the smallest storm water or sanitary station. Upon
arrival to your jobsite we will complete a thorough evaluation of your station
and then provide recommendations on how to fix the issues long term, and
improve the overall station operation. Kennedy Industries offers 24 hours a
day 7 days a week service and will quickly arrive on-site to get your critical
equipment back up and running, no matter what time or day of the week.
Our service department knows how important your equipment is, and we
want to use our expertise to ensure it is in the best working condition, and
keep it that way.
Our services include: Vibration Analysis, Laser alignment, Performance
and reliability consultation, Start up assistance, On site training seminars.
In order to maintain your equipment and avoid emergency calls, we offer
preventative maintenance contracts on all types of pumps and stations.
Kennedy Industries maintenance contract services include:
 Inspect level controls in chamber and controls for proper operation
 Check hour meters for proper operation and record readings
 Inspect and record amp and voltage readings for each pump
 Check indicator lights for burned out bulbs
 Verify proper operation of telemetry
 Pull pumps and check or change seal oil, grease bearings
 Draw down test to establish pump efficiency
 Check impeller clearance and adjust to O.E.M. specifications
 Check for deteriorating parts, alignment, coupling adjustment
 Recommend station upgrades that will increase efficiency and

Maintenance Contracts

Pump Rental
Our rental department provides cost-effective bypassing and dewatering products to contractors, municipalities,
industrial and commercial customers. We also provide exceptional SERVICE AND SUPPORT. Kennedy’s rental
equipment is INDUSTRIAL STRENGTH from our pumps to hoses and fittings. Technical support and telemetry alarming
services are also provided by Kennedy to ensure the equipment is operational 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
Parts Department
Kennedy Industries provides our customers with
O.E.M. pump and valve parts, from a vast array of
manufacturers. In addition we are capable of reverse
engineering parts, to provide you with a cost and
time efficient alternative for all of your spare and
immediate part requirements. Kennedy Industries
stocks on-site inventory of various raw materials, our
machine shop has the ability to provide you with the
parts you need in 24 hours or less. Downtime is not
an option for many of our customers. So whether
you are rebuilding your own pump or replenishing
your inventory, Kennedy Industries is ready to
provide you with the parts you need when you need
them.

Kennedy Industries developed the pump reliability program to help our customer avoid costly downtime and expensive
catastrophic failure of their equipment. This program provides the customer with peace of mind that their vital assets are
performing with the utmost reliability and efficiency possible.
The program consists of 3 phases as follows:
Phase 1: Performance Audit (Put Out the Brush Fires)
Initial health assessment on critical, and unreliable pumps.
This phase initiates the program with an in depth condition analysis to identify potential failures. Includes at a minimum:
hydraulic efficiency plotting (when instrumentation is available), loading issues, spectrum analysis, local system analysis,
general mechanical, bearing, sealing, and structural condition checks. A summary report with a reliability rating and our
prioritized recommendations will be submitted for each pump.
Phase 2: On-Site Pump Seminars (Results Through Education)
This comprehensive class starts with theory of operation and goes down to the nuts and bolts. A more knowledgeable
staff is better equipped to spot trouble and make informed decisions regarding their pumps. Presented with PowerPoint
and includes lunch. Normal duration between 3 and 4 hours.
Phase 3: Operations Guide Sheets (Protect Your Investments)
These one page, solid model quick reference sheets for operators are easy to read, and customized for each specific
pump. Critical start up and operating check points provide parameters to ensure the pump is operating properly, and is
not in hydraulic or mechanical distress.
Enhanced Customer Service
Kennedy Industries identified the need for customers to be able to access their equipment manuals, as builts, start up,
vibration analysis, alignment reports and other information online. As years go by records tend to get misplaced or lost
and key information is no longer available making it difficult to troubleshoot a particular piece of equipment.
How many gallons per minute did the pump produce new, what was the amp draw, when did the warranty period start
and end? These are very difficult questions to answer if the original documentation is not available.
With Kennedy Industries enhanced customer service all documentation is stored on Kennedy Industries servers and is
available to the customer 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The customer is given a login name and password and can
access their records for any piece of equipment that was purchased from Kennedy Industries. This service is offered to
our customers free of charge and has become very popular.

Energy Audits
Maintenance funds are decreasing along with available manpower. Customers are looking like never before to decrease
cost along with maintaining or improving services. Kennedy energy audits are designed to help the customer identify
inefficient pumps that are wasting the customer’s precious dollars. A partially clogged or worn out impeller can cost the
customer over 50% in energy usage. This staggering amount can offer the customer a quick payback on a more efficient
machine and reduce overtime costs along with improving safety of the customer’s employees. Kennedy Industries can
also provide variable frequency analysis to help customers decide if a variable frequency drive can help save energy
and improve the longevity of their equipment.

In August of 2011 Kennedy published its very first technical paper. Technical papers highlight projects and products that
are problem solvers. These have become a great sales tool and help communicate various problem solving ideas
throughout the industries that we serve. Providing our customers with tech papers gives them the comfort of knowing

Soldier’s Wish List
Kennedy joined together and donated over 15 boxes & 300lbs of
items to soldiers in Afghanistan. Dozens of blankets, clothes, board
games, and toiletries were donated by generous Kennedy team
members. These items were very much appreciated by the soldiers
to have a little piece of home with them, while getting necessities for
every day.
Inner-City School Supplies
Kennedy worked with an inner-city K-6 school to provide school
supplies and other necessities for their school year. Our employees
collected everything from pencils to notebooks to glue sticks,
packaged them up and delivered them personally to the school.
Step Out Walk to Stop Diabetes
Kennedy Industries employees participated in the Step Out Walk to
Stop Diabetes. Kennedy employees and their families walked
around the Detroit Zoo to benefit the American Diabetes
Association.
Reaching Higher
Kennedy strongly supports the reaching higher program.
Reaching Higher is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing
young men and women with tools to live healthier, happier lives.
The program emphasizes building self-esteem, embracing positive
life choices, and improving relationships to foster a healthier

History
Calvin B. Kennedy founded our company in May of 1959 when he left his position as repair and service
supervisor at a local pump repair shop. With $102.00 he started Kennedy Pump Repair Company in the back of a pickup
truck. His dedication and honesty soon established Kennedy as a successful pump repair facility servicing Southeast
Michigan.
In 1968, Cal added a distributor type sales department to compliment the steady growth of the repair facility.
Allis-Chalmers, ITT-AC Pump, was the first major principal and continues to be one of Kennedy Industries core principals
to this day.
The company continued to grow to the point where it became necessary to make the transition from a loose
entrepreneurial type operation to a systematic business. Kennedy Industries was transformed into the dominant
distributor for pumps in the State of Michigan.
ConValco, a company specializing in the sale of engineered valves was acquired and successfully integrated in 1990.
Exclusive sales agreements were made with numerous valve manufacturers including DeZurik, Singer Valve, Bray and
APCO among others. Our continued growth necessitated a building expansion of 10,000 square feet in 1994. Another
12,000 square feet was added in 2000 and most recently a new 40,000 square foot office/warehouse facility was added
in Lyon Township, for a total of 70,000 Sq. Ft between the two buildings. Pump principals were also part of our focus to
add new products and our continuous efforts to upgrade our overall product offering resulted in the addition of Link-Seal,
Xylem – Flygt and Patterson Pump Company along with a full offering of station and plant controls, telemetry and
SCADA.
The last decade has been a period of dramatic change for Kennedy. As our company has grown we have procured new
facilities in addition to expanding our existing facilities. We are fully equipped to provide the highest quality, most
competitive repair services and products in Michigan. Administration, IT, and financial systems were completely
upgraded in 2011. This substantial investment was made to enhance product offerings to new customers and new
markets.
Kennedy’s history will never be forgotten as the same strong values and principals apply today. We will continue the
same honesty & integrity that has made us successful for over 50 years servicing our customers.
