Overview document on our range of plastic sheet piling and accessory products.
Plastic sheet piling consists of interlocking structural
sheet piles made from recycled PVC. Used in a wide
range of retention, exclusion, damming and to
provide a hard edge to stop erosion and scour. Our
products have been used on the waterways, railways
and highways throughout the UK. Used successfully
by major civil engineering contractors, waterways
contractors, volunteers and the DIY market.
Isn’t plastic a bad thing? This is something we hear
very often, and it is true that over the years plastics
have developed a bad environmental reputation. Be
this in terms of the chemical by-products produced
during the manufacture of the material or simply
through the inappropriate use of these excellent
long lasting materials, in very short term
applications. The shorter the use, the longer the
material spends as waste; the build up and ultimate
uncontrolled breakdown of this waste does cause
huge environmental issues.
PVC is one of the most widely used polymers in the
world, found application in a wide array of industrial,
technical and household uses, most typically the
manufacture of profiles such as windows. PVC has
inherent sustainability characteristics. It is made
from common rock salt (57%) and hydrocarbons
from oil (43%) making it far less oil dependent (with
a lower carbon footprint) than other major
thermoplastics. It is highly durable and energy
efficient across a range of applications and is also
highly resource efficient.
The biggest environmental concerns with PVC are all
based around its first production, due to the high
chlorine content. In terms of reuse only around 3%
of waste PVC is recycled, and as such this creates a
huge waste issue.
Therefore it is essential we look to recycle as much
of this material as possible, and focus that recycled
product to applications that need longer term
solutions. If we use recycled PVC, we are not
producing the chemical nasties and at the same time
we are actively using up waste plastics. Plastics
already exists and we have a waste issue which we
need to address; in an appropriate and responsible
way. Plastic sheet piling is exactly that, using waste
PVC in applications that needs long term solutions.
Sheet piles, timbers posts etc do not install
themselves, every time you install such the process
will naturally create plastic waste, from synthetic
clothing to plastic wear components on the
equipment. The more often you install a retaining,
scour, flood, exclusions system the more energy you
use and the more waste you produce.
Focus on products that last longer, will reduce the
waste produced, and using recycled plastics reduces
the waste we have. For example replacing a
softwood structure, with plastic piling and use
timber fascia, which provides a long terms structural
solutions with the more easily maintained fascia.

How it is made Plastic Chair? Erdi Karaçal Mechanical EngineerErdi Karaçal
This document summarizes the process of manufacturing plastic chairs through injection molding. It begins by discussing the raw material, polyethylene terephthalate (PET), which is a thermoplastic that can be easily recycled. The manufacturing process involves injection molding the molten plastic into a mold. Molds are precisely machined from metal and must be carefully designed to facilitate the molding process. After molding, the chairs are clamped and then undergo quality checks before being distributed. Damaged chairs can also be recycled by separating, cleaning, grinding, and remelting the plastic materials.
Plastic caps are lighter and easier to open than aluminum caps, promoting convenience and growth in the beverage industry. However, aluminum caps remain widely used, especially for wine bottles where the hot forming process requires higher precision. Aluminum caps are cheaper to produce than plastic caps and existing production lines are designed for aluminum. While plastic caps are convenient, they can introduce debris or pollution if not produced sustainably. Both materials have advantages and disadvantages, so the preferred material may depend on the specific application.
The document discusses the materials used in buildings at the entrance of the National Zoo of Malaysia. The management building is mainly constructed of reinforced concrete, which has high strength and can withstand heat. Tempered glass is used for the facade, as it is stronger than normal glass and will not shatter into sharp pieces if broken. Aluminum supports the glass and makes up the facade, and is resistant to corrosion. Stainless steel is used for the staircase handles due to its strength, heat resistance, and resistance to corrosion and staining. The roof is made of polycarbonate, which is strong, tough, and impact-resistant. Pebble stone and concrete bricks make up unique flooring systems. Fabric structures provide shade and
The document discusses recycling issues for various materials, including metals, glass, composites, plastics, and rubber. For metals, most alloys are recyclable to some degree, though some like mercury and lead are toxic. Aluminum alloys are highly corrosion resistant and recyclable. Glass does not degrade but can be recycled to reduce pollution. Composites are difficult to recycle as their phases cannot be separated. Plastics and rubber are usually not biodegradable so constitute landfill waste, though some plastics can be recycled by remelting and remolding. Rubber recycling is challenging as vulcanized rubber is thermoset.

Aluminum and powder-coated metal picnic tables are durable options that can withstand various weather conditions without rusting or staining. Aluminum tables are lightweight but can blow over in windy conditions, while powder-coated tables are more durable but have seats and tables made of different materials. Component Playgrounds offers high-quality aluminum and powder-coated picnic tables that are designed to meet safety standards and last for generations.
Corrugated plastic sheets are made from polypropylene or polyethylene through an extrusion process. Sheets have a continuous corrugated profile and are light, strong, and economical. Common applications include reusable containers, packaging, and commercial signs. Sheets have advantages like cost efficiency, light weight, and good spanning ability, though they can smell when exposed to sunlight and may leak if screws are not fitted properly.
This document provides information about plastic and specifically polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) or acrylic plastic. It discusses that plastics are polymers made from petroleum that can be molded into various shapes. It then describes the two main types of plastics - thermoplastics and thermoset plastics - and provides examples of each. The document also outlines various properties and uses of plastics in general and PMMA specifically, including in construction, lighting, automotive, electronics, furniture and more. However, it notes that PMMA has limitations such as poor impact resistance and chemical resistance and may cause side effects if used in medical applications.
Plastics are polymers that can be natural or synthetic. Their unique properties allow them to replace metals in many applications due to their high strength to weight ratio and ease of manufacturing. Plastics are generally cheaper than metal and weigh less, making them preferable for applications like vehicles. Common thermoplastics include acrylics, nylon, PVC, and polyethylene, which soften when heated and harden when cooled, allowing for reversible processing. Thermosets like phenolics cross-link during processing and set permanently. Additives are used to modify properties and reduce costs. Common applications of plastics include pipes, appliances, tools, and automotive and electronic parts.

Implicitly or explicitly all competing businesses employ a strategy to select a mix
of marketing resources. Formulating such competitive strategies fundamentally
involves recognizing relationships between elements of the marketing mix (e.g.,
price and product quality), as well as assessing competitive and market conditions
(i.e., industry structure in the language of economics).

Understanding User Needs and Satisfying ThemAggregage
https://www.productmanagementtoday.com/frs/26903918/understanding-user-needs-and-satisfying-them
We know we want to create products which our customers find to be valuable. Whether we label it as customer-centric or product-led depends on how long we've been doing product management. There are three challenges we face when doing this. The obvious challenge is figuring out what our users need; the non-obvious challenges are in creating a shared understanding of those needs and in sensing if what we're doing is meeting those needs.
In this webinar, we won't focus on the research methods for discovering user-needs. We will focus on synthesis of the needs we discover, communication and alignment tools, and how we operationalize addressing those needs.
Industry expert Scott Sehlhorst will:
• Introduce a taxonomy for user goals with real world examples
• Present the Onion Diagram, a tool for contextualizing task-level goals
• Illustrate how customer journey maps capture activity-level and task-level goals
• Demonstrate the best approach to selection and prioritization of user-goals to address
• Highlight the crucial benchmarks, observable changes, in ensuring fulfillment of customer needs

2. Improving on existing products and systems to improve output,
efficiency and effectiveness is at the core of innovation. It’s about
working smarter not harder. Innovation is the absolute key to the
growth of the mining and minerals industries. These industries rely
heavily on continuous innovation to drive growth.
And with regards to that, it is the innovation that has led to the
implementation of plastic trays in these industries with a motive of
making the process simpler. Plastic trays have a number of benefits
with accordance to the materials that have to be stored or presented
in these trays. There are certain minerals that react to a metal tray in
a vague manner, but are well summoned on a plastic one.
3. Here are some key benefits of plastic trays in the industries:
Convenience
They have ergonomically designed built-in handles so that they are
easier to pick up and handle, coloured coded for easy recognition
and are also available in black. These trays are designed to stack well
on pallets and aren’t noisy like metal core trays, they are planted
with effective drainage holes ensuring that core samples are not
damaged or contaminated. They can be easily labelled with a
permanent marker or paint pen or an optional aluminium tag that
holds onto the ID tag holder.
Productivity
Metal core trays are hard to pick up, especially when hot! Are
difficult to handle and when damaged, need to be replaced which
means a loss in productivity. Improved plastic core tray designs
means that they are easier to use and stack easily for storage and
transportation saving time and resources - thereby enhancing
productivity. Certain models in these trays can even nest effectively
halving transport costs when the tray is empty.
Longevity
Metal core trays have a tendency to rust and have a shorter life span
as a result. Plastic core trays are made of premium UV stabilised
4. polypropylene, a type of thermoplastic polymer resin that can be
found in many goods such as loudspeakers, automotive components
and carpets. This chemical compound is not only highly resistant to
organic chemicals (to minimise risk of a chemical reaction with core
samples) and is non-magnetic (so as not to interfere with core
analysis) but will not corrode like metal core trays. These types of
plastic trays are generally so durable, that they are assumed to last
for about an approximate time of 20 years.
Cost-effectiveness
The components of metal core trays are normally higher in costs
which make them more expensive to manufacture. These costs are
subsequently passed down to the customer. In comparison, plastic
core trays are cheaper to produce and so are cheaper than metal
core trays. And as they are also more durable, plastic core trays
represent good value.
Safety
Metal core trays have sharp edges making it difficult to pick them
without inflicting cuts to hands. Sharp corners can also catch on
clothing. When left out in the sun for great lengths of time, metal
core trays can also become hot to touch and burn the skin, making it
difficult to pick up and handle without the use of safety gloves.
Plastic core trays eliminate these safety issues because they have
rounded edges and are cool to touch even when left for long periods
of time in the hot sun. Because there is less risk of injuries and other
OHS issues, plastic core trays are a much safer option.
5. Plastic trays are an important facet to a number of industries and are
rapidly replacing the metal trays. The reason for this to happen is
indeed quite obvious after the number of key benefits mentioned
above; there is a clear sight as to why plastic trays are the more
preferred version of trays.
