Lord Baden Powell created the Scouting movement to train young people to be sane and self-sufficient in an insane world. He believed outdoor activities could develop youth's health, skills, sense of adventure and service to others. In 1961, the Indonesian government designated the Pramuka movement as the sole provider of scouting programs in Indonesia, integrating existing organizations. Pramuka aims to develop well-rounded Indonesian youth through practical skills, national spirit and respect for diversity.
