o Pada 1 Julai 2013 Jabatan Pencegahan & Pembantersan
Jenayah, PDRM telah dilancarkan oleh YDH Ketua Polis
Negara bertempat di IPD Sungai Siput, Perak.
o Tanggungjawab utama Jabatan ini adalah untuk
merancang strategi-strategi serta melaksanakan inisiatifinisiatif dengan objektif untuk menguruskan kadar
jenayah, serta meningkatkan rasa selamat di kalangan
masyarakat.
o Strategi Jabatan adalah seperti berikut:-
 Memastikan pendekatan secara proaktif dan
bersepadu bagi mencegah jenayah daripada
berlaku,
 Mendidik serta membudayakan masyarakat tentang
tanggungjawab bersama dalam mencegah jenayah,
 Menghapuskan peluang perlakuan jenayah,
 Menghapuskan hasrat untuk melakukan jenayah,
 Menangani dan mengurangkan persepsi fear of
crime, dan
 Memainkan consultative role kepada komuniti,
institusi pndidikan, institusi perniagaan, agensi
kerajaan dan NGO.

Engagements
o Eureka Pasar Malam - Organized by KDN, Astro,
PDRM and other government agencies reaching out to
Chinese community & crime awareness
o Women Group - Women fear for safety : e.g. of rape,
domestic violence, etc. Provide ‘Triage Rooms’ for
sensitive cases, and train front-line officers on how to
handle trauma cases, involving Women NGOs.
o Engagement with University Student - The role of
youth in family / society, university students engage
other youths outside campus in sports activities and
other community services, as future leaders, 1M4U,
youth organization, beneficial activities.

Volunteerism
o SKIM RONDAAN SUKARELAWAN (SRS) - Involving
3,279 areas, more than 160,000 people and work closely
with PDRM
o IKATAN RELAWAN MALAYSIA (RELA) - registered
membership of 2,980,354 as at year 2013, 4,001 joined
PVR and did patrolling with PRDM
o JABATAN PERTAHANAN AWAM MALAYSIA (JPAM) 314,000 memberships, 1,736 join PVR and did patrolling
with PDRM
o POLICE VOLUNTEER RESERVE (PVR) – Intake of
10,000 PVR every year effective 2013 – 2017.
o AUXILIARY POLICE (AP) – manpower ending August
2013 – 17,737. Approved post 40,502. Targeted 18,000
trained in 6 months (NBOS)
o Security Guard In Shopping Complexes - 25,000
guards. Work closely with police
o IM4U - launched by PM 15 July 2012, engaged in
volunteer activities and promote world peace.
