The photographs on the previous page, shows a décor technique we
coined “swags” along with a collection of vintage chandeliers, and custom made
farm tables. In these few pictures my skills and experience are evident.
The swags are made of Super Voile cut from a fabric bolt and using a few
tools attached at the tent peak whilst standing on a 16’ ladder or scissor lift and on
the perimeter with a smaller step ladder. Another 10’ piece of super voile with a
sewn pocket is attached to the perimeter to a create a drape to cover the tent side
pole panel and pool at the bottom. This application requires a level of ease with
ladders and handling small tools, the pocketed piece was also sewn in house, as I
am comfortable on a sewing machine as well as serger.
The chandeliers pictured were purchased, assembled by hand, and then
hand painted to fashion a more neutral look to be cohesive with multiple designs.
In upcoming pictures, my comfort and knowledge of electrical devices and tools will
also be apparent. More often than not, events require customization in electrical
cord color, length, and gage.
Farm tables will also be shows throughout this portfolio as they were a
favorite amongst clients. Although each was constructed by a freelance carpenter,
I am familiar with their assemblage as I have repaired them on numerous
occasions. I have also been assigned in staining and treating the wood. I am not
shy when it comes to power tools, painting, staining, and getting my hands dirty.
In fact, I rather prefer to work my hands.
Please enjoy the upcoming photographs and thank you for viewing.

bars
The bars pictured
on the left, show two separate
crafted techniques.
The bars in the top
photograph are tufted faux
leather that I upholstered by
hand. A freelance carpenter
built the frame and I, using
simple hand tools and a fabric
bolt fabricated the bar.
The second bar, like
the first was built from a
carpenter and adorned with
my own work. The panels in
front consist of several small
pocketed pieces of super voile,
strung together, and hand
pleated.

use of hand tools, ladders, and a bit of ingenuity.

The arbor to the left was made with
found materials and constructed on site. The
above hanging lit balls featured in both
pictures are made of grapevine on a chicken
wire form and adorned with brown twinkle
lights.

The arbor hanging
above the head table is
a structure I made
from sand blasted
manzanita and curly
willow. There is also
added LED vines and
hand hired electrical
cords. The florals were
added on site at Grey
Craig estate after being
suspending from the
low gage aircraft
cables.
The wedding was in
September of 2012 for
Molly and Thomas.
