Columbia Power develops, builds, and operates hydroelectric facilities in British Columbia. They have worked over the past 20 years to develop three hydro power generation facilities. Their largest project to date is the Waneta Expansion Project, which began in 2010 to increase capacity at an existing dam. Some key facts about the Waneta Expansion Project include moving over 82,000 truckloads of rock and soil, excavating 42 meters deep for the powerhouse, installing 10 km of transmission lines, and using over 85,000 cubic meters of concrete and 445,000 kg of structural steel.
