Hugh Evans is an Australian humanitarian who co-founded The Oaktree Foundation and the Global Poverty Project. As a youth, he participated in famine relief efforts in the Philippines which inspired him to address poverty. He later co-founded The Oaktree Foundation in 2003 to provide aid to developing countries through youth volunteers. In 2008, inspired by Al Gore's film on climate change, Evans co-founded the Global Poverty Project to increase awareness of extreme poverty and advocate for its elimination by 2030.
