2. ОСНОВНО УЧИЛИЩЕ
This is my country
Bulgaria. It`s located on
lands with some very old
and rich history and culture.
One of the earliest societies
in the lands of modern-day
Bulgaria was the Neolithic
Karanovo culture, which
dates back to 6,500 BC. In
Antiquity (6th–3rd century
BC), the region became a
battleground for Thracians,
Persians, Celts and Ancient
Macedonians until it was
conquered by the Roman
Empire in 45 AD.
3. ОСНОВНО УЧИЛИЩЕ
This is my hometown
Kazanlak. Kazanlak is a town
in central Bulgaria, an
administrative center of the
same name in the region of
Stara Zagora. Its population
is 45,367 people.
The climate is transient
continental, with a greater
number of sunny days.
Summer is moderately
warm, rains fall rare, and
winter is soft, with rare
snowfall.
4. ОСНОВНО УЧИЛИЩЕ This is the centre of the
town. A lot of events related
with the culture life of the
town are realised here. Every
Sunday the people of Kazanlak
meet here to have fun playing
Bulgarian traditional dances
named horo under the sounds
of traditional Bulgarian music.
Here are located the building
of the theatre “Lyubomir
Kabakchiev”, the library
”Iskra” , the hotel ”Kazanlak” ,
park “Rozarium” and the
moderm Museum of the rose
in the park. Here is located our
school “ Mati Bolaria” too.
5. ОСНОВНО УЧИЛИЩЕ At the center is located one of the
symbols of Kazanlak - the Lion
Fountain. It was built more than
100 years ago. Its architect is
Florentine sculptor Arnoldo Zochi.
Its name comes from the fact that
on the north, west, and south are
depicted bronze lion heads.
There`s a belief that if you want to
stay forever in Kazanlak you have
to drop a coin in the fountain.
In recent years Kazanlak has being
visited by many Japanese tourists.
Many of them fall in love in the
beautiful Valley of Rose and staied
here to live in the city or
surrounding villages. The Japanese
monument “Yaponkata” on the
Iskra pedestrian street is a symbol
of the friendship between the
Japan and Kazanlak.
6. ОСНОВНО УЧИЛИЩЕ Kazanlak is the center of
a rose-growing region with
centuries-old traditions of
extracting rose oil and other
essential oils named the Valley
of Rose and the town is
considered to be its capital. The
Valley of Rose is an area in
Bulgaria, located to the south of
the Balkan mountains - a
mountain chain on the Balkan
Peninsula. The only Oilseed
Rose Museum in the world is in
Kazanlak. Here is located the
historical and Ethnographic
complex “Kulata", where the
tourists can watch primitive
process of extracting rose oil
and taste the products of the
oil-bearing rose.
7. ОСНОВНО УЧИЛИЩЕ In the Valley of Rose every
year in the first days of June
there`s the Rose Festival, and
in August the Feast of the
Thracian kings.
8. ОСНОВНО УЧИЛИЩЕ The Rose Festival is one of the
most remarkable events in
Bulgaria, dedicated to beauty
and flowers, to spring and the
fragrance of the priceless
Kazanlak rose.The whole week
is filled with different
attractions.
There`s a tradition on the last
day of the celebrations, to be
choosen the most beautiful girl
in the city. She`s called "The
Queen Of Roses" At the
festival in Kazanlak come
people from all the world.
9. ОСНОВНО УЧИЛИЩЕ The oldest settlement in the
area of the modern-day city
dates back to the Neolithic era
(6th-5th millennium BCE).
During the 4th-3rd centuries
BCE the lands on the upper
Tundzha river were within the
dominion of the Thracian ruler
Seuthes III and took an
important place in the
historical development of
Thrace during the Hellenistic
era. The Thracian city of
Seuthopolis was uncovered
near Kazanlak.
10. ОСНОВНО УЧИЛИЩЕ In the 4th century BCE, near
the ancient Thracian capital of
Seuthopolis and close to the
city, a magnificent Thracian
tomb was built. It`s decorated
with painted murals
representing a Thracian couple
at a ritual funeral feast. The
tomb was declared a UNESCO
World Heritage Site in 1979.
11. ОСНОВНО УЧИЛИЩЕ One of the most impressive
monuments of the Thracian
civilization in the Valley of the
Thracian Kings, is the heroon
(a temple-tomb of a hero of
royal status) of Seuthes III. In
the summer of 2004 a team of
Bulgarian archaeologists
unearthed a large, intact
Thracian mausoleum dating
back from the 5th century BCE
near the Bulgarian town of
Shipka, Kazanlak municipality.
Near the Kazanlak town, on
one of the peaks of the Balkan
mountains is located the
monument Shipka - national
symbol of Bulgaria.
