This document outlines CKL's 2016-2019 strategic plan. It identifies considerations for the plan including attracting new residents and jobs while focusing on the city's strengths. The vision is to be a naturally beautiful city with an exceptional lifestyle. The mission is to provide efficient services. Strategic goals are a vibrant economy, exceptional quality of life, and healthy environment. Immediate priority actions include economic development and branding strategies, improved access to services, and plans for budgets, assets, and human resources. Staff will use the plan to guide their work and report progress biannually.

9. From Vision to Reality
• Staff will be guided by the vision and by the strategic goals
and actions that are contained in the Plan.
• The Plan will be utilized as the basis for developing annual
work plans at the departmental level.
• Staff will monitor and formally report on results every six
months through progress reports to Council, scorecards and
posting results to the City website.
