1. Lochbridge
Karl Wade is the SharePoint and .Net Practice Manager at Lochbridge. He has
over 17 years of information technology and Microsoft application consulting
experience. Karl has many specific competencies related to all versions of
Microsoft SharePoint: 2001, 2.0 and 3.0, SharePoint Server 2007, 2010 and
2013.
In his current position, Mr. Wade is responsible for a team of SharePoint and .net
developers for Lochbridge and also direct client specific development and
deployment of SharePoint for internal users end clients.
In a former position, Mr. Wade is responsible for System Architecture and administration of SharePoint
2010 and 2013 and online versions. His activities include planning of sizing, deployment, and oversight
of the SharePoint infrastructure, SQL server 2008 r2 & 2012, and web application deployments.
Mr. Wade has recently completed a full development and support of the Enterprise SharePoint 2013
environments for development, QA, and production on multi-tier and multi-server farm environments. The
SharePoint deployment included Microsoft Project Server 2013 integrated with SharePoint 2013.
This also included the upgrade of SharePoint 2010 content to SharePoint 2013 on SQL server 2012
Mr. Wade has previously provided various SharePoint roles of administrator, developer, and architect for
many Michigan and Ohio companies and agencies. While in Michigan, Mr. Wade has done SharePoint
work for General Motors, Ford, Inalfa Roofing systems and Federal Mogul; some of his work can be seen
on Federal Mogul’s external SharePoint 2010 web site at http://www.federalmogul.com.
Other tasks that he completed while at Federal Mogul included the work on the internal SharePoint
environment which entailed SharePoint maintenance, administration and custom site creation. A high
percentage of time was also spent on Lotus Notes Migrations to SharePoint. Mr. Wade worked on
approximately 1000 migrations. Many of the migrations were done with the Quest Migrator tool. There
was a full development lifecycle for each application migration consisting of requirement gathering from
the application owner, initial development and test migration to the satisfaction of the application owner,
QA testing, and then when approved, full migration to the production destination.
Previously as a consultant, Mr. Wade used his analytical and hardware/ software architectural skills to
design and document SharePoint hardware topology and application architecture for many organizations
based on Microsoft best practices. In this role, he created detailed project plans, deployment scripts and
SDLC for custom SharePoint development, including the use of source control application Team
Foundation. Mr. Wade has also integrated SharePoint with Microsoft office, InfoPath forms, SAP with
Microsoft Duet, Microsoft Dynamics, Microsoft Projects, SSRS, and PerformancePoint
From 1999 to 2007, Mr. Wade was a program support specialist with the Ohio Department of
Education where he was responsible for data reporting and internal and external Web
administration, including SharePoint 2001- services 2.0 administration, branding, and development
with designer and Visual Studio.net. While there he also helped to complete enterprise Web
application migration from a HTML/XHTML site to a Content Management software (GeoDocs) Web
application.
Mr. Wade has a Master’s of Science degree from Keller Graduate School of Management in Ohio where
he focused on Information System Management. Mr. Wade also holds a BS in Information Technology
from DeVry University focusing on Network administration and web application management, as well as,
a Bachelor’s Degree from Wilmington College majoring in Business Administration. He has completed
additional course work focused on Project Management, certified internet webmaster and SharePoint
application development, including workflow, features, custom style sheets (CSS), XML and C# code.
Throughout his career, Mr. Wade has presented at Microsoft (Southfield Michigan location) in 2012, on
SharePoint Business intelligence and SQL Server 2012, taught courses on various versions of
2. SharePoint from 2001 to 2013, and has produced various tutorials, user guides and ‘how-to’ files for
SharePoint end users, power users, administrators and developers.
