Professional Statement_______________________________________________________
My life has been full of business experiences that has help me develop into a person who has
embraced a lifestyle that sees the true value of business for both our economy and our society.
My development as a leader who cherishes employees and customers is the focus of my pro-
business philosophy. With my academic credentials and professional business experiences, I am
able to create an exciting and “real-world” experience for my business students.
Professional Experience______________________________________________________
Atlantic Cape Community College 1996- Present
Mays Landing, New Jersey 08330
Assistant Professor- Professional Studies
In 1996, I was hire by the college to teach one Principles of Management class. It was both an
exciting as well as scary semester as I was hired just 5 days before the class started. I was
handed the book and wished the best of luck. There were no Smart Boards, electronic
components or publisher’s content. I was able to convert my business experiences with the help
of the text book into transparencies. While I did not know exactly how to describe my classroom
style, I knew that I had what “IT” took to be a great college professor. My thoughts about my
teaching delivery was quickly confirmed as I was offered and taught the maximum number of
classes that could be taught annually by an adjunct. This continued through 2010.
In 2010, I was hired by the college as a full time professor (Assistant Professor). As a full-time
member of the faculty, there are multiple roles that need to be performed. Obviously, my role as
a professor is still paramount. However, I sit on several committees that involve both academics
as well as student services.
Area Coordinator- Professional Studies 2014-Present
In 2014, I was named as the Area Coordinator for Professional Studies. My primary role is to be
a liaison to the numerous adjunct faculty members in the department and to act as a mentor to
new adjunct faculty members. The task of adjunct observations falls to me as well. As with
many colleges, a good number of our student body is taught by adjunct faculty. My role is to
convert them from subject-matter experts into college classroom teachers (which is not always
an easy task). Given my good interpersonal skills, I have found success in motivating them.
2. Regular Duties as an Assistant Professor /Area Coordinator:
• Developing annual Professional Studies departmental goals
• Convening monthly Professional Studies meetings
• Encouraging and mentoring adjunct faculty throughout the semesters
• Assisting adjunct faculty with student, administrative or pedagogical issues
• Assisting Dean with Program Reviews and assessment requirements
• Reviewing and Liaising on all BUSN high school articulation agreements
• Chairing –Professional Studies Advisory Board
Stockton University
Galloway, New Jersey 08205 1998-Present
Adjunct Professor-Professional Studies
I have taught in the Professional Studies department for many years at Stockton University.
Given that I am reliable and dependable, I have been fortunate that the University has offered me
many classes to teach. My student reviews have always been solid as the students always cite
my high energy and passion for teaching.
GPM, LLC
Stone Harbor, New Jersey 08247 1989-Present
President
This is a startup company that I began 2 years out of college. My Professional Statement is
directly correlated to my company as I was passionate about my employees and customers.
While I did not know it at the time, my leadership platform of today that is completely focused
on people is the result of my GPM venture.
GPM is a full service real estate management company. The company’s primary focuses is on
maintaining condominium complexes. The company is small now, but at one point I managed
18 condominium associations and retained 12 year-round employees. Many of my classroom
examples, lecture topics and discussions come directly from my experiences as a business owner.
Business ownership coupled with my academic background has been extremely valuable to me
as a business professor.

4. Community Service and Other Activities
I am an advocate of being a leader in my community. It is so important to be active as our
society needs people to be involved and volunteer. While volunteerism is needed to fill financial
gaps, it is absolutely needed to build strong families and solid neighborhoods. However,
community volunteerism is most needed in the development of children into solid adults and
future leaders.
• Elected Council Member, Stone Harbor Borough Council (1995-2010). As a
member of the Borough’s Council, I was responsible for a $9 million operating
budget as well as a $45 million capital budget. Even though Stone Harbor is a
season, seashore community, the operation of the town required a meticulous
understanding of finances with an in-depth understanding of public
administration.
1. President- Borough Council (2005 and 2010)
2. Chair of the Administration and Finance Committee (2001-2010)
• Elected School Board Member, Stone Harbor Board of Education. This
was my first experience as an elected official. I quickly found myself being
aggravated with bureaucracy that is even present in a small town.
1. Vice President-Board of Education (1992-1994)
• President-Stone Harbor Chamber of Commerce (1998-2001 and 2007-2009)
• Volunteer Fireman- Stone Harbor Fire Department (1989-present)
1. Treasurer-Stone Harbor Fire Department (1997-2010). I was elected to
be the treasurer of the SHFD in 1997. While it may be hard to
understand, the department never had an operating budget.
I was the first treasurer in our 100 years of the fire department’s
history to create and implement an operating budget.
2. Chair-Stone Harbor Fire Department –Easter Egg Hunt (1990-Present)
3. Chair- Stone Harbor Fire Department- Youth Fire Camp (2008- 2014)
• President- Stone Harbor Parent Teacher Connection (2010-2014).
The Parent Teacher Connection was an organization that was very similar
to a PTA. As president, I was in charge of organizing the basic
activities for the children (i.e. carnivals, picnics, etc.) as
well as being in charge of fundraising (i.e. book fair, Yankee Candle
sales, etc.). While it was a tremendous amount of work, it allowed me to
be in the school on a regular basis. This allowed me to see my kids.
This was the payoff to the hard work.
• Member –Middle Township Code of Conduct Review Committee (2013-Present)
5. As a member of the Review Committee, I hear complaints regarding bad
coaches as well as bad parents.
• Youth Coach (2005-present).
As with many youth coaches, I started as a simple parent volunteer. I
enjoyed being with my kids, and I enjoyed helping. I was never and still
am not an X’s and O’s coach. However, I have taken the role of being and
advocate of “developing young men”. There are many people yelling at
the players. I have assumed the role of talking to them.
• Vice President- Cape Atlantic Junior Football League (2016-Present)
To further develop my role as an advocate for young men, I decided to
become an officer of the football league. Inherently, the league does want
to help these boys grow and mature, but the “old-school” football
mentality sometimes is present. As a decision maker, I can have more
impact.
• Vice President-NJEA (2015-Present)
