The Kano model classifies product features and customer satisfaction into five categories: must-have features which cause dissatisfaction if absent but don't satisfy when present; performance features which customers expect; attractive features which delight customers; indifferent features which have little effect on satisfaction or dissatisfaction; and reverse features which dissatisfy customers if present. The Kano survey uses a 5 point scale to determine which category a feature belongs to.
