The Gresik government in Indonesia launched a program called "Kakekku Datang" to update household registry data and address issues like duplicate identities and data anomalies. Over 256,000 households, or 69% of the total, had never updated their data since 2008. Through proactive outreach and online/mobile services, the program helped verify data for over 113,000 families. This improved civil registration services and supported other programs in areas like health, poverty reduction, and birth certificates. The government aims to solve registration problems through online applications and establish a single identity for residents using national ID numbers.
