The primary literacy program focuses on developing reading skills through shared reading, guided reading, phonics instruction, sight words, songs and poems. It is run by teachers from the English Department, NETs and LETs. Students read different books each week and have their reading abilities tested twice a year to develop a habit of reading English books. For P4 to P6, the focus remains on developing reading skills through four readers per year using a language arts method with additional ELTA-led activities to improve English.
