2. Anorexia

3. Anorexia Anorexia is an eating disorder where an individual is hungry, but denies herself the pleasure of eating. Often times, an anorexic person has a very distorted image of self and in her mind, when looking at her image, she appears to be larger and as a result feels that she is unworthy and unattractive.

4. Anorexia Signs of anorexia: Obsession with food and calorie counting. Obsession with exercise. Hoarding food for binging purposes. Usage of laxatives, diet pills and water pills. Constant bathroom trips, particularly after eating.

5. Anorexia Anorexia is seen mostly in young pre-teen, teen and tween girls. Rarely, some men suffer from anorexia as well. Peer pressure and the need to fit in, is what begins the devastating habits of anorexia.

6. Anorexia Treatment Counseling Group therapy Developing new eating habits. Learning to see food as a source of nourishment and not as an enemy. All of these treatments will need the support and assistance of a professional.

7. Obesity

8. Obesity Obesity is currently an epidemic in this country. The first lady, Michelle Obama has a campaign where she is actively working with schools and parents to change eating habits, increase exercise and decrease the amount of sugar and sodium in our foods, especially packaged and fast food items.

10. Obesity Obesity Solutions: Support Groups Exercise Structured weight loss assistance and portioned meals, i.e., Jenny Craig and Weight Watchers. Bariatric intervention - Lap band or gastro stapling, very serious solutions for the morbidly obese, not to be considered without counseling.

12. Jaundice Jaundice is yellowing of the skin due to excess bilirubin in the blood. Jaundice is often seen in liver disease such as hepatitis or liver cancer. It may also indicate obstruction of the biliary tract, for example by gallstones or pancreatic cancer, or less commonly be congenital in origin.

15. Orthodontics Orthodontics are generally used to correct a misalignment of teeth due to nature, an accident or in combination with surgical intervention due to birth defects and/or facial abnormalities. Most people wear braces for 2 – 3 years or until the desired results have been achieved.
