College and Career Readiness is defined by Maryland law as being prepared to take credit-bearing courses in college without needing developmental or remedial classes. This allows students to begin their college education directly in credit-bearing courses at Maryland community colleges. The definition comes from Maryland's College and Career Readiness and College Completion Act of 2013.
