This document summarizes the author's experiences traveling to Spain for the first time. It describes their excitement and anticipation leading up to the trip, as well as their impressions of Madrid upon arrival. The author then traveled to A Pontenova where they spent time with friends from other countries involved in a project, learning about the Spanish school system and taking day trips to beautiful beaches and the city of Santiago. Overall, the author was grateful for the opportunity and found that their experiences in Spain exceeded their expectations.

1. ‘’Just’’ Spain
28th
of Semptember. The date we all were expecting so long and finally it came. We
didn’t even feel the insomnia because of all the emotions which made our bodies to
tremble. So waited and wanted, the date for our departure toward our friends from
Spain came.
This was my first travel with plane and maybe that’s why I was so thrilled. I couldn’t
wait to get on the plane and to feel what it’s like to travel that way.
We traveled about 3 hours, not much but when we were expecting to arrive, these 3
hours seemed like a decade.
Eventually we arrived in Madrid. This feeling can’t be explained with words. It’s
something you just need to feel.
The capital of Spain is so similar to Sofia and at the same time - so different.
Beautiful, noisy, a little bit dirty (like all capitals), full with kind people - from my
point - that’s the way Madrid looks like.
After we had a night in Madrid, we went to A Pontenova. The place where we were
going to spend the next few days with our friends from all countries involved in the
project.
After 7 hours we arrived in Pontenova.
From the next day our adventures began.
During the time we spent there we got known with the Spanish school and its system.
It is so different from the Bulgarian one. The atmosphere in which children study is so
different. It definitely has an influence on children’s motivation for studying.
In the next days we had the opportunity to visit a wonderful beach. It was one of the
most beautiful places I’ve ever visited. I will remember this view for all my life.
We also visited the main city in Galicia - Santiago - a wonderful town, which I
recommend to everyone to visit.
To summarize, I can say that I am very glad that I had the opportunity to visit Spain
exactly this way - with these people with me, at this age.
Even though I tried not to have expectations - it was impossible. I can say that
everything I saw was even better than what I expected.
The family which hosted me was very kind.
I am so glad and thankful that I had the chance to visit Spain and to get known with
another country, to make new friends. This experience I will never forget.
