1) The document discusses the debate around prohibitions on wearing veils in various countries from an Islamic law perspective.
2) It analyzes the reasons for prohibiting veils based on interpretations of the Quran and the Islamic legal principle of "sadd al-dzari'ah".
3) The study concludes that wearing veils is not clearly mandated or prohibited in Islamic texts and is therefore considered "mubah" or permissible, according to most Islamic scholars. Regulations can be justified using the principle of "sadd al-dzari'ah" to prevent potential harms.

ABSTRACT
There is a radical transformation taking place in Saudi Arabia. The Saudis are poised on the
edge of a significant new social landscape. Called the Internet, this new frontier includes not
only the creation of new forms of private communication, like electronic mail and chat, but
also online public discussion areas, which for the first time enable communication between
males and females in this gender-segregated society. This paper has been written as a result
of a study conducted in Saudi Arabia during 2001 - 2002. The purpose of the study was to
understand how online communities in Saudi Arabia are affecting offline communities. The
results of the study indicate that participants, in addition to gaining self-confidence, became
open- minded in their thinking, more aware of the personal characteristics of individuals
within their society and less inhibited about the opposite gender. On the negative side,
participants neglected their family commitments, became less shy and some became confused
about some aspects of their culture and religion. After a brief introduction about the Internet
in Saudi Arabia and its culture, the paper examines online communities in the literature. It
then discusses the conceptual and methodological aspects of the study. This includes how
data were collected and analysed. A discussion of the results of the study follows. Next, an
examination of the findings in relation to the literature is provided. Finally, the conclusions
drawn from this study are presented.
1. INTRODUCTION
The Internet was introduced in Saudi Arabia in late January 1999 after a long period of
discussions and consultations within the Saudi authorities. Finally it was agreed that a
tailored version would be made available to the public. To enable this, a huge filter system
was set up in Riyadh in conjunction with an American company. The reason for having such
a filter system was that the Saudi authorities had serious concerns about the arrival of
undesirable material (for example pornography) on home computer screens and also due to
other cultural, religious and political reasons.
Currently there are 1.9 million Internet users in the country (Alriyadh, 2003), which is
about 10% of the total population. According to a recent study, of this 1.9 million, 53 %
participate in asynchronous online communities (JeddahNews.net, 2003). The use of online
communities, in a country where Islam acts as a primary force in determining social norms,
values and practices, is disrupting long-established traditions, enabling the mixing of
members of both sexes, and making people aware of diff ...

AN OVERVIEW OF HUMAN NATURE (FITRAH) AND LIBERALISME IN ISLAMIC PERSPECTIVEIAEME Publication
Human Nature (Fitrah) and Liberalism two aspects that have become important
debated topics in Malaysia. This paper discusses these two aspects based on the
observation of result analysis from several conducted research. In addition to that, the
discussion in this paper will also examine where the ideologies are placed in the
media in today’s era of 4iR. This paper is written based on the research that was
conducted qualitatively which involved historical and content analyses. The findings
show that the liberal ideology moves concurrently with the dissemination of the
secularism ideology. Its widespread growth is inline with the rapid development of
communications media in the era of 4iR. If this is not contained in its early stages, it
can be one of the factors that contribute to the rise of extremist-minded society. The
implication is that the religious harmony in this country will be affected as well as the
level of unity between different races and ethnicities. It is therefore the responsibility
of all parties, whether individuals, societies or government agencies in various
ministries to figure out the best solution to curb the spread of these two aspects.
The paper examines a general understanding of Polygamy and its positive and negative effects on family among the Somali Communities. Polygamy is one of special of interest and a distinguished feature in Muslim communities. It remains a controversial issue not only in Kenya but also in many Muslim countries around the world. There is an argument whether polygamy is appropriate or inappropriate to our family as well as society. Some societies, especially in rural areas, it is believed that Polygamy is helpful to career women who might have to work late and then go home and take care of their children or husband. On the other hand, Polygamy is forbidden in modern society, as polygamy has negative effect on the family and society especially it makes a conflict among wives. In some cases, polygamy is permissible in order to give chance to the aged woman who has not been married. In that case, polygamy is viewed the way to help to those group. Based on the discussions, the paper attempts to discuss the issues of Polygamy and its effect on family in Kenya as well as other Muslim countries. Furthermore, the application of Family law is still debatable among scholars. Some scholars view that it gives a positive effect, while others do not. Based on the discussion, the paper attempts to discuss the issues of Polygamy and its effects on family. The paper is based on both primary and secondary information
Formulation of Business Fiqh Contemporary (Formulation of Sharia Maqashid E-C...AJHSSR Journal
ABSTRACT: The formulation of Islamic law is based on a universal-humanity foundation, covering worldly
and hereafter interests, aiming to make people happy protect them from evil and destruction, and Islam is
suitable in various conditions, times and places. There is a greater difficulty if the development of Islamic law
does not want to go through the path of the goals of Islamic law, or at least the general principles of Islamic law.
Therefore, in the development of Islamic legal thought, thinkers are relatively quick to agree on ‗mashlahah‘ as
‗maqashid sharia‘ or what is more popularly known as the goal of Islamic law. More than that, maslahah in its
development is not only a legal goal but also becomes a proposition in the formulation of Islamic law itself. The
importance of research based on Islamic legal philosophy through the maqashid sharia of electronic commerce
(e-commerce), because it is a modern trading model, not discovered by researchers in classical fiqh, and even
contemporary fiqh before the 1990s, in Indonesia e-commerce began in the early 2000s. This qualitative
research paradigm and its type of normative legal research used secondary data traced and obtained from
libraries and internet sites to find new arguments regarding the formulation and purpose of Islamic law on ecommerce.

This study diachronically investigates the trend of the “open access” in the Web of Science (WoS) category of “communication.” To evaluate the trend, data were collected from 184 categories of WoS from 1980 to 2017. A total of 87,997,893 documents were obtained, of which 95,304 (0.10%) were in the category of “communication.” In average, 4.24% of the documents in all 184 categories were open access. While in communication, it was 3.29%, which ranked communication 116 out of 184. An Open Access Index (OAI) was developed to predict the trend of open access in communication. Based on the OAI, communication needs 77 years to fully reach open access, which undeniably can be considered as “crisis in scientific publishing” in this field. Given this stunning information, it is the time for a global call for “open access” by communication scholars across the world. Future research should investigate whether the current business models of publications in communication scholarships are encouraging open access or pose unnecessary restrictions on knowledge development.

Small Group Discussion: In 2014 the federal government denied Corinthian Colleges, a for-profit post-secondary education company, access to federal aid because they falsified graduation records and engaged in deceptive advertising practices. They were forced to shut down or sell most of their colleges and are now the subject of numerous investigations.
The closing and ongoing scandal, however, leaves many students with expensive student loans and poor prospects for employment. In 2015, fifteen former students decided to go on a “loan strike” and are refusing to pay back their student loans. They claim that the school engaged in deceptive practices and are striking to demand the Education Department forgive the debts.
Is this act of civil disobedience a just action? Why/why not?

Nurdin, N and Rusli Social Media Adoption and Use by Indonesian MuslimIAIN Datokarama Palu
This study focuses on online social media adoption and usage for da’wah (missionary activities) purposes. The presence of second generation of internet, which is often called as web 2.0, has enabled the emergence of social media adoption and use to allow interactive and real time communication among societies. However, Muslim societies in particular Muslim scholars have yet to get benefits from the online social media technology. Instead of utilizing the technology to maximize delivering Islam messages to ummah, many Muslim use the social media merely for fun. Current fact shows that more than 39 million Indonesian have utilized online social mediawhich means there is a potential opportunities to generate benefits for delivering Islamic message, such as through da’wah h, to our society. Despite a number scholars have addressed the possibility of practicing da’wah through internet but there is a lack scientific study on how da’wah should be delivered through the technology. Our findings show that some key Muslim figures and groups have adopted and use social media dan muslim groups to deliver da’wah effectively. We conclude that social media should be adopted and used by Muslim to improve da’wah scalability among societies. Therefore, da’wah strategies and paradigms should also redesign in respond new technology emergence. Future research and limitation are also addressed.

After reading this journal article regarding
ethics of internet research, I have discovered different viewpoints of research and determined some ethical concerns.
As this type of “web-based” research grows, researchers will face ethical concerns that are different from traditional research ethical issues, (Denissen, Neumann & Van Zalk, 2010)
The main attribute of internet research, as I see it, is the ability to have a global footprint; meaning almost any one that has a computer and connectivity can access all types of information and data. Along with this power, comes great responsibility. The web can be a wonderful tool which can afford individuals, organizations, communities, and others tremendous access into good and bad places. This access can afford humans into medical breakthroughs, how to guides on repairs and building, how to get from city to city, and a multitude of positive ways to learn and grow.
Internet research use is growing at a fast pace and consequently, is creating ethical dilemmas.
At the same time, it can be a way to link terrorists’ organizations, promote child pornography etc. As you can see, internet research can be used for the greater good, or to our detriment.
This is where the ethics comes into play, and guidelines are set up to monitor ethical issues which occur due to this process. Institutional Review Boards at institutions conducting this type of
research
need specific guidelines for researchers to follow in order to maintain the integrity of
research.

With the rapid increase of technology has come tremendous opportunity. Information is more easily accessible than ever before, which also creates ethical concerns. This week’s lecture describes research that is ethical as one “that the researchers are protecting the privacy of the participants and any research data collected about them.” The journal article, “The Ethics of Internet Research” examines internet research and the ethical issues that arise.
The advantages of internet research over traditional methods are that it is less costly, less of a time commitment, more controlled by the researcher, higher accuracy in data collection, and the ability to easily provide follow up and feedback (Williams, 2012). In a lot of aspects, internet research can be more efficient and less costly. However, there are many disadvantages that the article addresses on internet research. One is lack of control over the test setting (Williams, 2012). It is difficult to verify if the subject is in fact who they .
Uniform Civil Code and Its Legal DimensionsQUESTJOURNAL
ABSTRACT: This paper primarily talks about the concept of the Uniform Civil Code and its legal dimensions. In this paper, we have tried to examine the basic essence of the Uniform Civil Code and what does it mean and its legal prospective and theories. This paper commences with the introduction to the Uniform Civil Code in which it defines the concept of the Uniform Civil Code and also discusses about its origin or where it has derived from. It briefly talks about the history of the Uniform Civil Code and then discusses about the relationship of the Uniform Civil Code with the personal laws. In this part it discusses how the personal laws, play an important role when it comes to the formation of the Uniform Civil Code. It further discusses the need or desire for the Uniform Civil Code under this part itself, that whether the Uniform Civil Code should be implemented or not and what are the pros and cons of the same. As we further proceed towards the approach of the research paper, this paper discusses about the relationship of the Uniform Civil Code with the Secularism and discusses how the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code may lead to the disintegration of the nation and how this will lead to the breakdown off the peace and harmony among the people. Then it further discusses about the Uniform Civil Code and the constitutional guarantees. As we further proceed, then it discusses about the relationship between the Uniform Civil Code and the gender justice and human rights. This paper also talks about the judgements and the take of the Indian Judiciary towards the Uniform Civil Code. Last but not the least, this paper concludes with certain sets of recommendations and conclusions. This paper aims to spread knowledge and make the readers inquisitive about their approach on the topic of Uniform Civil Code and its Legal Dimensions.

observation of result analysis from several conducted research.

After reading this journal article regarding ethics of interne.docxrosiecabaniss

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202
