- #9 We are always looking ahead to anticipate and capture the next big waves of innovation – in areas such as extended reality, blockchain and quantum computing – to drive differentiation and make Accenture even more relevant to our clients: Extended reality (XR) – including virtual reality, augmented reality and newly developed immersive technologies – connects and engages users at deeper, more meaningful levels through combined physical/virtual environments leveraging wearable technology. Distributed ledger and blockchain technology fundamentally changes how data is managed, moving from a scenario where each organization maintains its own copy of a data set to one where everyone has controlled access to a shared copy. Quantum computing greatly enhances how information is stored and processed, allowing it to perform more efficient algorithms and offering the possibility of vastly outpacing traditional computing methods.
