Juhani is the oldest brother in the 1870 Finnish novel Seven Brothers by Aleksis Kivi. As the oldest, Juhani acts as a leader to his six brothers but also listens to them. He is impulsive and learns new things slowly, but marries Venla and is the only brother to visit outside their home village. Juhani represents the archetypal strong and stubborn Finnish man who always finds a way to get what he wants.

Juhani is the oldest brother in Seven brothers novel which was written by our
national writer Aleksis Kivi in 1870. It was one of the first books written in Finnish
about the everyday life of a common man. Juhani is impulsive, overbearing and
learns new things slowly. Juhani is also the only brother who have visited outside
from his home village.
He is a leader of the other six brothers, but he also listens to his other brothers.
