2. "The Hawley Armory is home to many clubs and groups," said Colleen
Thompson, Director of Hawley Armory Fitness & Wellness Programs. "Wrestling, dance
clubs, and all the martial arts call this building home. In fact, this is where the basketball
team used to practice before all the other building were built."
3. Many students at the University of Connecticut take advantage of the hills and paths
that the schools has. Even in the cold winter months, it is not uncommon to step
outside and see people running or jogging.
4. “I try to play racquetball for a couple hours at least a few times a week,” said Johnny
Koczon, a junior at UConn. “It’s a great way to get some fun exercise in your day and if
you’re good, it’s a pretty good workout overall.”
5. "We tend to get really busy at the beginning of the second semester," said Nigel
Roberts, the Financial Assistant for the Department of Recreational Services. "It's all
the New Year's resolution's and whatnot. But after a month or two, it dies down and
goes back to normal."
6. With UConn’s campus being as large as it is, it’s no surprise that students take
advantage of having their bikes with them. Biking around is a great way to stay in shape
and in the cold weather, most people wear a face mask to keep warm while riding
around.
