About Josephine Goube
Josephine Goube is the CEO of Sistech, founded in 2017. Sistech is a European
non-profit company that empowers women refugees through access to tech and
digital jobs. Josephine Goube was born and brought up in France her education
began in a French institution and her higher education was done at the Paris Institute
of Political Studies from 2006 to 2010. Her early life and education led to her interest
in social and humanitarianwork. Her research on social advocacy and urban
planning led to her career in solving social problems.

Initially, she did an internship in advertising in New York while a master’s degree in
LSE, and then from 2010 to 2016 she collaborated with Migrate, a start-up that helps
people in applying visa for France, the UK, Germany, etc. In 2013 she was Co-
Directing manager of GirlsIn Tech UK for empowering girls in technology. She was
interested in guiding people on visas, the website had a traffic of 2 million visitors a
month. In 2014 she found visitors looking for asylum status who were travelling from
Syria to Europe. She thought about the people who were displaced as not their fault.
Then she met an editor in Europe, and both decided to solve the issues that is when
TheTechfugeesorganization was founded in September 2015, it is a global
2. organization that uses tech solutions to support the displaced people. Goube is the
CEO of The Techfugees and contributes to the success of the organization which
has volunteers from 10 countries across five continents that aims to help suffering
refugees with technology and their fulfillment. It also brings 18 cities across the world
together with engineers, start-ups, NGOs, etc to empower the humanitarian sector
using technology.
Later Goube continued her career in Sistech as CEO from 2018 till the present date,
even she is playing a vital role in helping displaced women by qualifying them to
grab tech and digital jobs. She conducted many programs and campaigns under her
leadership one of them was the #TF4Women program in 2018. This was aimed, at
the integration of refugee women in tech and digital jobs to help and up-bring their
lives. In 2021 #TF4Women program was expanded to many countries and was able
to serve four times women than before.
Recognition and awards
Josephine is been honored with many awards for her social work. She was awarded
with Les Margaret Award for the year 2017-18 as a founder of The Techfugees. She
is also known as “Women at the Top” in the UK by Marie Clarie for her success and
boldness in 2015. She was on the list of Forbes 30 for 3 times and by Management
Today she is named one of the “35 Women Under 35”.
Josephine from 2018 is one of the board members of the Norwegian Refugee
Council. She served as an expert advising the European Commission on migration
reforms regarding theBlue Cards from 2015 to 2020. Since 2022 she has been a
Schmidt Futures fellow. She is also a fellow member of institutions like the New
Entrepreneurs Foundation, Schmidt Futures, and the Royal Society of Arts.
