Title of the position: A COMMUNICATION ASSISTANT
Mission : Under the supervision of the Executive Secretariat Communication , Knowledge Management Program
Manager, the communication Assistant will have as :
Main tasks :
• Supporting ROPPA and national platforms , in the promotion, media coverage and improvement of the
communication actions visibility ;
• Animating social networks of the organization (facebook, Linked, Youtube, Twitter, ...);
• Animating the internet sites (websites , knowledge sharing platforms, etc.) and intranet of the network ;
• Animating a network of internal editors for feeding the various electronic platforms ;
• Maintaining information surveillance in order to inform the network’s members on issues related to the agricultural
world ;
• Animating the quarterly agenda of the network’s activities.
Additional tasks :
• Supporting the monitoring-evaluation of the periodic bulletins and animation of fairs ;
• Supporting the organization of the network meetings and events media coverage;
• Contributing to the animation of the ROPPA information magazine ;
• Supporting the working out of periodic reports on communication activities ;
• Supporting the conduct of works related to the publishing, filing, stocking and management of the documentation;
• Ensuring all the other tasks coming under to his/her competence asked by his/her line managers.
Profile : The communication assistant should have at least a bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism. The work
experience in the farmer organization and the master will be an asset. The female applicants are welcome.
• Having a good mastery of communication techniques mostly PAO, in multimedia and audiovisual directing ;
• Having a strong experience in the use of Information, communication Technologies ;
• Having a strong experience in the management of web sites (Sous Jooma and Spip) ;
• Having a strong mastery of the computer tool mostly in the following softwares : PowerPoint, Publisher, Adobe
Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, Adobe Audition ;
• Having knowledge on storage, publishing and diffusion of the printed or electronic documents;
• Being able to write press articles;
• Being able to carry out reporting and animation;
• Having experience on project management;
• Being able to frequently travel and in an autonomous way;
• Being able to work under pressure;
• Having good abilities in oral and written communication;
• Being bilingual (French and English) with a perfect mastery of one of the two languages ;
• Sharing the values and ethics of ROPPA;
• Having worked with CSOs and particularly farmer organizations in West Africa would be an asset ;
• Having the spirit of initiative;
• Coming from a country of West Africa.
Conditions of the work: the missions and tasks dedicated to the communication Assistant will sometimes require travelling

in West Africa. The job contract linking the communication Assistant to ROPPA will be under the laws of Burkina Faso,
country headquartering ROPPA. The contract will be for two (02) years renewable.
