2002 – 2006, BSc - Zoology with marine zoology University of Wales, Department of
biological sciences, Bangor, UK. Title of thesis: Why fish are useful in order to study
evolutionary change.
2007 – 2010, MSc - Biological Oceanography, IFM – GEOMAR Leibniz – Institut
fur Meereswissenschaften an der Universitat Kiel & University of Southern Denmark,
Institute of Biology, Odense. Title of master research thesis: Cod growth and climate
variation - A 10 year cod growth chronology from the Faroese plateau cod stock.
2013 –2014 PhD One year study at the University of Aberdeen UK, literature review
in socio economics, ecology and Marine Protected Areas (PhD study terminated due
to lack of funds).
Complementary education – summer school

Experience working with diving centers, management, sales and in-water work.
I have significantly contributed to marine environmental education programs
organized from the ministry/department of education in Greece. I have also personally
organized environmental events/lectures in high schools concerning marine sciences
and marine biology/ecology/conservation in general. Substantial academic as also
diving industry experience. I have worked as a PADI dive instructor. I have
experience in diving – ecotourism and tourism as also in marine ecology. in general is
of paramount importance for the understating of such business sector. My major
scientific interests are in Marine Protected Areas, fisheries oceanography, marine
ecology and socio-economics, tourism and environmental policy- conservation.
