This document is a project report submitted by Jitesh Thakur towards the completion of a 2nd year Commercial Design diploma. It details the design of a retail outlet for a sports brand. Jitesh researched the target youth demographic, retail design principles like impulse buying, and site considerations. He created layout plans, elevations, and designs reflecting the brand image through use of color, logo, patterns. In conclusion, Jitesh learned the importance of brand image and meeting customer needs through effective retail space design.

5. SYNOPSIS OF PROJECT
While Studying Retail Design I Learned That Retail Design Should Promote
Impulse Buying. The Case Study Provided To Us For Design A Retail Outlet For
Sport Brand. The Store Is In The Mall And The Concept We Have To Work Out
On Is Youthful Generation I.E. The Design Must Attract The Youngsters.
Under The Retail Design Project I Did Research That What Are The Facilities
That The Mall Is Providing And Along With This The Site Consideration I.E. The
Location Of My Mall And Also The Surrounding Stores Of My Store. For
Selecting The Type Of Store I First Studied About Various Types Of Stores And
From Those I Chose Concept Store.
After This We Considered The Buying Behaviours Of Customer Because It
Always Plays A Very Important Role For Designing Any Retail Outlet. I Learned
That Better Environment In Any Retail Store Not Only Provided Through Design
But The Music And Scent Also Plays A Very Important Role.
Then We Considered The Shopping Behaviours Of Consumer And We Learned
That How Can Me Maximise The Final Standing Tome Of The Customer Inside
The Space. For This We Learned 6 Basic Types Of Plans And From Those I Chose
Pathway Plan. And We Did The Brainstorming Part And Made Plan And
Elevation Through Drafting.
In Designing We Need To Image Space As A Blank Canvas With Neutral Walls,
Flooring And Ceiling. And Think Of A ADIDAS Brand And The Associate Colour,
Logo, Pattern, Sound And Scent. And The Store I Have To Design Needs To Be
Opulence, Seduction And Use Of Luxurious Material.
After This We Have Considered That How The Entrance Of My Store Should Be.
The Entrance Which I Have Created Is My Initial Idea Of Presentation And It
Can Be Change In Design Development Part.
After Studying All The Points I Made A Store Detail Layout Plan, 4 Elevations,
Flooring And Lighting Layout Plan. And I Have Also Done The Design
Development Part Of The Store With 4 Walls And Ceiling After Making Story
Board.

136. CONCLUSION
In the project of retail design I have learned that how the outlet of any brand
should be. I also learned the basic requirements and needs that every retail
store needs to fulfil. As we can create more intersect inside the space
through our design and can make it more attractive. As the interior and
exterior of store both plays a vital role in the design of retail outlet as in my
project report I considered both exterior and interior as equal weightage.
And the design which I have created is reflecting the image of ADIDAS brand.
I learned that we always needs to focus the Brand image before started
design part as it has to be clear that which market segment company needs
to focus more in.
