2. As the chief deputy treasurer and general counsel for the
Indiana State Treasurer, James “Jim” Holden has
experience in public law and administration. Additionally,
James Holden holds the rank of Major in the Indiana Army
National Guard’s 38th Infantry Division and serves as a
Judge Advocate, advising the Commander and Soldiers
on matters of military law.
Comprising more than 14,000 people, the Indiana Army
National Guard consists of more than 65 Army installations
across the state, as well as two air wings. As with other
branches of the Army National Guard, the Indiana Guard
aids local law enforcement during state emergencies and
may be called into federal service in times of national
emergency.
3. The 35,000-acre Camp Atterbury allows Soldiers
to learn the latest techniques and the
Muscatatuck Urban Training Center includes a
1,000-acre site dedicated to urban combat
training.
Under the leadership of Commanding General
Maj. Gen. David C. Wood and Senior Enlisted
Advisor Command Sgt. Maj. John Watson, the
Indiana Army National Guard’s 38th Infantry
Division, based in Indianapolis, contributes to
this mission. The Division includes the the 38th
Combat Aviation Brigade, based in Shelbyville.
