ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Production (Private Equity Funds): (March 2010- May 2011)
• We are responsible to analyze and review the policies and procedures of GP’s such as
commencement of business, Liquidation date, Valuation policy, termination period or
extension of agreement if any. These will be monitored on quarterly basis where if we
find any change in the LPA, we need to report the same through the GP Share point.
• We will receive all the GP”s financial information or other investment details like
memos who are invested in the PE funds in which we will track the Goldman Sachs
(our major client) investment trading performance on monthly or quarterly basis.
• We will analyze both GP’s and LP’s investment details.
• We need to monitor the change( either increase or decrease) in Total commitment or
fund size (amount invested by all investors) and GP commitment (GP level) if any,
during the investment period.
• Tracking of PE funds done in two ways- Investment reports & Transaction Reports.
INVESTMENT REPORT TRACKING-
Investments are tracked in the form of two funds- PEP funds & Vintage funds
2. • We are provided with the financial statements to track the following information for
the investments invested by LP to the fund- Original Investment Cost, Current
Cost, Total Fair market value, Ownership stake%, Management fees, Carried
interest, Proceeds on sale of investments, Industry or sector of the investments or
company, Private or public company.
• Investment reports includes monitoring and analyzing the costs difference of the
investments either tracking follow on investments or sale on investment during
activity period.
• Tracking the sale proceeds/ profits or incomes of the realized or partially realized
investments.
Transaction reports tracking-
• Booking the cash activity (inflow/outflow) for various LP’s on daily basis.
• Calculating and booking the contribution, distributions & NAV of fixed assets.
• Reconciliation of contribution/distribution or distribution waterfall has been made in
order to know the investment capacity of the limited partners.
• Distribution Waterfall: The order and priority in which a private equity fund
distributes capital and profits to LPs and the GP. The GP, for example, may return
all capital contributed by the LPs beforetaking carried interest, or take carry on a
deal-by-deal basis. Most funds offer a priority return of realized invested capital,
rather than all contributed capital. LPs are protected from portfolio losses
subsequent to distribution of carry to a GP through the clawback.
• After analyzing and booking the LP level transactions- the reports are tracked in
three ways; History to date(HTD), Year to date(YTD), Quarter to date(QTD) in
order to showcase the investment performance or the distributable profit of the
limited partners.
• Comparing and measuring the rate of return or the profitability of LP’s through IRR
reports which is generated and submitted to clients to check out the investment
activity of the fund invested in PEG.
• We are the one who provide the investment decisions to the clients for further
investing factors.
Tasks & Duties (Hedge Funds Trading):
• Preparing daily trades, position and cash reconciliation
• Break resolution for all open items with the brokers or clients
• Capture of Complex Derivatives and the calculation of payoffs on Complex
Derivatives like IRS, TRS, CDS and FX etc
• To do manual bookings and as well as automated for trades on Geneva & AIS
Portal for all the securities.
