Duties included, but were not limited to: Meeting with bereaved families, typing death
certificates electronically, working with outside funeral homes to arrange for
transportation of the deceased, reviewing and signing off on cremation paperwork, filing
various paperwork electronically including insurance papers, burial transit permits, U.S.
Flag applications, Social Security Forms; writing obituaries, returning the cremated
remains of loved ones, overseeing funeral and memorial services, delegating jobs as
needed, creating meaningful print material, and being on call.

I took this position originally to pay the bills until a Funeral Director position opened. The
pay was good as were the benefits-so I stayed until I was downsized. Duties included
reviewing closing documents for accuracy, completing the closing package and sending
it electronically to the Closing Agent. I also dealt with the borrowers in reference to
going over the details of their new refinance and answering any questions both before
and after the closing took place.
Hardage-Giddens Town and Country Funeral Home December 2009-April 28, 2010
I started serving my year long Funeral Director/ Embalmer internship at Town and
Country Funeral Home/ Riverside Memorial Park, on January 7, 2010. My license # is
F038018. This was a much different learning experience than my former positions in
SCI. Duties included, but were not limited to meeting with bereaved families, typing
death certificates, working with outside funeral homes to arrange for transportation of
the deceased, filing various paperwork including insurance papers, burial transit
permits, U.S. Flag applications, Social Security Forms. I have arranged for Military to be
present for services when appropriate. I completed most of my 40 Funeral Director
cases in the first quarter of 2010.
Fraser Funeral Home-May 2010-January 2011-I continued my internship under the
guidance and tutelage of Jim Gentry and Robert Hattabaugh (A Non-paid position to
complete my internship).
3. Fraser Funeral Home: Practicum I & II, Jacksonville, Florida, August 2009-
November 2009
This was a learning experience. I helped with many different tasks including, but not
limited to, visitations, funerals, embalming, clean-up, answering telephones, rarely office
type work, errands such as dropping off and picking up death certificates, removals of
dead human remains, setting up chapel for services, cosmetizing the deceased for
funeral services, sitting in while funeral directors met with families.

I made sure death certificates were handled in a professional and timely manner,
became proficient in MS Office, gained some familiarity in use of HMIS, I was and am
able to handle simultaneous projects, safeguarded and maintained all classified
material, occasionally made deposits of money and checks, able to use good judgement
and make decisions as needed, excellent planning skills, able to analyze difficult
situations and when needed, diffuse them, excellent communication skills with families
in person and on the telephone, occasional errands, such as dropping off and picking
up death certificates, occasionally "stood" funeral services and helped with some
cemetery needs, such as "blind-checks", helped with annual Luminary (holiday
memorial) at the cemetery (Greenlawn Cemetery).

on their pre-need purchase options, kept in contact with families on both a pre-need and
post-need basis, "stood" funeral services and tended to family's needs, "blind-checked"
cemetery spaces sold by others to be sure the correct space was going to the correct
person, helped assemble materials for community outreach programs., helped answer
phones when needed, helped with annual Luminary (holiday memorial) at cemetery
(Riverside Memorial Park).

Discussed advantages and disadvantages of various policies, called on policyholders to
deliver and explain policy, to suggest additions and changes in insurance program, and
to change beneficiaries, established client's method of payment, sold small group and

Operations Specialist (Underwriter), 2004 – 2005
Reviewed prospective home owner's applications for insurability, process involved
checking applications, reviewing photos, closing/lease papers, and reviewing rules and
standards relative to process at hand, some internet research involved in process,
follow up on applications included making sure policy had been issued, monies
received, and that everything had been completed.

Call Center Representative (Member/Provider Services), 1997 - 1997
Answered phone calls from health insurance plan members about plan coverage,
answered calls from members and providers about claim questions, and sent claims
which had been incorrectly paid back for reconsideration.
Pharmacy Support Representative, 1997 - 2001
A technical support unit created to help pharmacies get claims paid electronically; in
addition, unit also answered calls from health insurance plan members, doctor's offices,
and pharmacies regarding pharmacy benefits, used MS Word to help update in-house
online information as part of special project assignments, unit also assisted with
member/provider service calls in heavy volume periods.
Claim Benefit Specialist, 2001 - 2004
Paid healthcare claims for plan members and providers; used MS Word to write to plan
members or providers in reference to payment of claims; worked on special projects
using MS Excel worksheets to review claims; reviewed claims that had been denied and
requested information from the appropriate areas so that claims could be finalized.
Prior to 1997 Worked as a Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician.
I spent a brief time in the United States Air Force, but was honorably discharged
due to an injury.
