The story of Jane Eyre has enthrall many readers since its publication in 1847 and
  still holds a place as one the greatest books ever written . Written through the
 point of view of Jane it tells of Jane struggles in a19th century society where man
govern and women follow . It also tells of Jane love for the rich Mr. Rochester and
her struggle to find the happiness that has been denied to her since she was a child
                                            .

 Jane Eyre is a young orphan being raised by Mrs. Reed she is treated harshly by
   her aunt and cousins . Jane is sent to lowood school where she finds the cruel
school’s headmaster Mr. Brocklehurst. After teaching for two years, Jane yearns
      for new experiences. She accepts a governess position at a manor called
Thornfield, where she teaches a lively French girl named Adele. Jane’s employer at
 Thornfield is a dark, impassioned man named Rochester, with whom Jane finds
  herself falling secretly in love. Rochester proposes to Jane, who accepts almost
disbelievingly. The wedding day arrives, and as Jane and Mr. Rochester prepare to
exchange their vows, the voice of a Mr. Mason cries out that Rochester already has
    a wife. Knowing that it is impossible for her to be with Rochester, Jane flees
                                      Thornfield.

    Penniless and hungry, Jane is forced to sleep outdoors and beg for food. At

Charlotte Bronte was born 1816, the third of the six
       children of Patrick Bronte, an Anglican
  clergyman, and his wife Maria Branwell Bronte.
 After their mother's death in 1821, Charlotte and
    her sisters, Maria and Elizabeth, were sent to
      Cowan Bridge Clergy Daughters' School.
   Conditions at the school were so bad that both
 Maria and Elizabeth became ill with consumption
(tuberculosis) which killed them in 1825. Charlotte
    was very close to her surviving siblings Anne
Bronte, Branwell, and Emily Bronte . The children
 spent much of their childhood writing poetry and
 stories about their make-believe places . During a
   brief period of time Anne , Emily and Branwell
    died leaving Charlotte. In 1854, she married
    Reverend A. B. Nicholls, curate of Haworth.
  Charlotte found she was pregnant not long after
 her marriage and died in childbirth on 31 March
              1855 caused by pneumonia
The protagonist and narrator, Jane is an orphaned girl caught
  between class boundaries, financial situations, and her own
conflicted feelings. In her youth and again as a governess, Jane
 must depend on others for support. Jane Eyre is described as
plain, with An elfin look. Jane and Rochester are immediately
      interested in each other. She likes the fact that he’s
    craggy, dark, and rough-looking instead of smooth and
 classically handsome. It has been said that Charlotte Bronte
  may have created the character of Jane Eyre as a means of
        coming to terms with elements of her own life."
    Jane's school, lowood, is said to be based on the clergy
   daughters school at Cowan bridge, where two of Bronte's
                sisters, Maria and Elizabeth, died.
Bronte declared that "I will show you a heroine as plain and as
             small as myself", in creating Jane Eyre.

   beautiful Creole woman from a prominent West Indies
 family, Bertha was married to Mr. Rochester in an effort to
  consolidate the wealth of the two families. Suffering from
    hereditary insanity that had been kept secret from Mr.
 Rochester, Bertha began to spiral into madness and violence
shortly after their marriage. Eventually, Bertha is imprisoned
 in the attic at Thornfield under the guard of Grace Poole, a
confinement meant to ensure both her own protection and the
   protection of the other inhabitants of the house. Bertha
occasionally escapes from her prison and wreaks havoc in the
house; her last outburst involves setting fire to Thornfield and
                    leaping to her own death.
