Adobe Services suggests the
following vehicle safety prac-
tices:
The four seeing habits for expert
driving should be developed by
all employees.
1. Aim high in steering: The
initial and continuing require-
ment in moving a vehicle is a
suitable steering path. High aim
steering is the safest method of
selecting this path. To maintain
the proper following distance
behind the vehicle ahead, travel
no closer than 3 seconds behind.
The same interval applies to
starting out at intersections.
2. Consider all factors in the
traffic pattern which affect the
steering path so your course can
be accurately determined.
3. Check the rear view mirror
frequently.
4. Communicate as required by
horn, lights, turn signals, stop-
lights, or hand signals. Signal
well ahead while there is still
time to avoid an accident. Ma-
neuver to keep a cushion of
space around your vehicle. This
gives you the time required to
see and decide, before taking any
necessary actions.
