Experience 2007 – 2008 Abigroup – Southern Regional Water Pipeline CAD Technician Data Processor Surveyors Assistant Originally employed as a CAD and Data Processing Officer for Abigroup on the Southern Regional Water Pipeline, I soon took on the role of a Surveyors Assistant to primarily assist staff and contract Surveyors in various surveying tasks in the construction of the 128Km pipeline. After six months I began to undertake both supervised and unsupervised surveys using GPS equipment for the setout of the pipeline alignment, excavations and recording conformance observations. - 2. 2 2008 – 2009 Leighton’sContractors – Northern Missing Link Rail Surveyors.Assistant Survey Technician Primarily employed to assist staff and contract Surveyors to undertake various surveying tasks in the construction of the 70Km rail formation. I undertook both supervised and unsupervised surveying tasks using both GPS equipment and robotic instruments. My role was primarily as an instrument technician setting out for the earthworks formation and drainage culverts on the alignment. I was introduced to Trimble GPS and total stations, namely the Trimble R6 GPS and S6 total station with the TSC2 field controller. I was also responsible for machine calibrations and maintaining GPS machines. I spent seven months in the close out period of the project where I was able to adapt to new survey procedures operating the Leica 1200 series total station and the survey program Road Runner. - 3. 3 2009 – 2011 Abigroup– Ipswich Motorway Upgrade Surveyors.Assistant Survey Technician Primarily employed to assist staff and contract surveyors to undertake various surveying tasks in the construction of the Ipswich Motorway. The job entailed 8Km of existing motorway lane widening, new bridges and service roads. I undertook both supervised and unsupervised surveying tasks using both GPS equipment and robotic instruments. This job allowed me to work more independently and take on more responsibility in the way of field work. I was able to see, in depth, the process of upgrading existing roads with use of traffic switches and road closures. The job consisted of 4Km of complete re-alignment of the existing road. The Cardwell Range Upgrade was the first job I had worked independently. I was able to conduct surveys for every part of the construction phase during the project. This included my first bridge, which was a 60m single span overpass from start to finish. I also worked on other features such as reinforced earth batters using soil nails, retaining walls with SMSE connections, drill and blasting for rock removal and sub-strata mapping. - 4. 4 2013 – 2015 LendLease – Dingo to Bluff Rail Duplication Project Surveyor Primarily employed to undertake surveying tasks unassisted of the duplication of 25Km of electrified rail between Dingo and Bluff, Central Queensland. I was tasked with being the sole surveyor for three bridges and then moved on to close out works for rail formation and stanchion erection. I was involved closely with every aspect of this job and was the last surveyor on site to produce an electronic as-built model for Aurizon. I was primarily employed tp provide survey for ITS and drainage, however, I am involved in every other aspect of the construction of the new road. I am still currently working on this project and primarily provide survey for all aspects involving the construction of the road.
