Does Hepatitis E Virus need to be Considered as a re-emerging problem in both industrialized and developing countries?
I came across an article wrhich was very interesting to me. The five authors - Zhang, Wu, Zhong, Xiao, and Dong observed that Hepatitis E (HEV) as a virus which is now considered by some scientists as an emerging issue as HEV is not only prevalent in developing countries but increasingly detected in industrialized nations (p. 275). I learned that this disease affects the liver and there are over 20 million cases resulting from HEV every year. To give a quick history about hepatitis E, in was in India, in 1978 when the first out break which hit the area and resulted in 52,000 cases and 1,700 deaths all due to water-borne HEV disease (Zhang et al. 2018). At first they did not know how or what this disease was that was killing and people become infected until a Russian scientist in 1983, by the name of Mikhail Balayan, took some stool samples and samples from autopies which had damaged livers and had been infected with this virus and studied it. His team then classified it as Hepatitis E (HEV). I learned from reading this article that there are currently eight known HEV genotypes (parts of the genetic makeup of a cell that determines the phenotype of a specific organism) (Zhang et al. 2018). Some genotypes can infect humans and some animals and some both.
What was most interesting in this article was it included the transmission, symptons, prevention, spreading, and awareness to the public about HEV. I think it is important to known especially for someone like me who wants to travel to other countries where different environments are not as santizied as the comfort we have here at home. Furthermore, HEV infection is high and shows a trend of increasing, which leads to the conclusion and proves there hypothesis that HEV is a re-emerging disease (Zhang et al. 2018).
To give a brief description about HEV, HEV can be transmitted through food consumption, blood transfusion, organ tranplants, pathogens in fecal particles from one person, uncooked foods, raw animal products, close contact with pigs and swine hunters (Zhang et al. 2018). Some of the symptons which many believe they have the cold or the flu are fever, vomiting, faintness. Some other characteristics of symptons can be jaundice, itching skin, pale stools, darkened urine, which lead to chronic HEV diseases. Prevention is mainly with a HEV vaccine, especially for paties who require blood or organ transplants. Lastly, awareness to the public about ways to protect oneself when encountering persons who may be infected, blood donation, eating handling raw foods, or animals, etc.

Since volcanic activity was first discovered on Io from Voyager images in 1979, changes
on Io’s surface have been monitored from both spacecraft and ground-based telescopes.
Here, we present the highest spatial resolution images of Io ever obtained from a groundbased telescope. These images, acquired by the SHARK-VIS instrument on the Large
Binocular Telescope, show evidence of a major resurfacing event on Io’s trailing hemisphere. When compared to the most recent spacecraft images, the SHARK-VIS images
show that a plume deposit from a powerful eruption at Pillan Patera has covered part
of the long-lived Pele plume deposit. Although this type of resurfacing event may be common on Io, few have been detected due to the rarity of spacecraft visits and the previously low spatial resolution available from Earth-based telescopes. The SHARK-VIS instrument ushers in a new era of high resolution imaging of Io’s surface using adaptive
optics at visible wavelengths.

However, we have yet to fully achieve this; there are still many sociotechnical frictions.
Inspired by David Donoho's vision, this talk aims to revisit the three crucial pillars of frictionless reproducibility (data sharing, code sharing, and competitive challenges) with the perspective of deep software variability.
Our observation is that multiple layers — hardware, operating systems, third-party libraries, software versions, input data, compile-time options, and parameters — are subject to variability that exacerbates frictions but is also essential for achieving robust, generalizable results and fostering innovation. I will first review the literature, providing evidence of how the complex variability interactions across these layers affect qualitative and quantitative software properties, thereby complicating the reproduction and replication of scientific studies in various fields.
I will then present some software engineering and AI techniques that can support the strategic exploration of variability spaces. These include the use of abstractions and models (e.g., feature models), sampling strategies (e.g., uniform, random), cost-effective measurements (e.g., incremental build of software configurations), and dimensionality reduction methods (e.g., transfer learning, feature selection, software debloating).
I will finally argue that deep variability is both the problem and solution of frictionless reproducibility, calling the software science community to develop new methods and tools to manage variability and foster reproducibility in software systems.

In this book, we use conservation of energy techniques on a fluid element to derive the Modified Bernoulli equation of flow with viscous or friction effects. We derive the general equation of flow/ velocity and then from this we derive the Pouiselle flow equation, the transition flow equation and the turbulent flow equation. In the situations where there are no viscous effects , the equation reduces to the Bernoulli equation. From experimental results, we are able to include other terms in the Bernoulli equation. We also look at cases where pressure gradients exist. We use the Modified Bernoulli equation to derive equations of flow rate for pipes of different cross sectional areas connected together. We also extend our techniques of energy conservation to a sphere falling in a viscous medium under the effect of gravity. A TRUE LEGEND AMONG MYTHS
The preservation of an outstanding French scientist and his research
2. Outstanding French scientist Jacques Benveniste (1935-2004) - author of over 300
scientific articles on medicine related to the area of molecular biology, was known as a
successful researcher who discovered a new, important lipid mediator. According to
colleagues, Benveniste was a potential Nobel Prize candidate for his research
discoveries.
Approaching the peak of success, Jacques Benveniste unexpectedly departed from the
conventional scientific arena in order to concentrate on less traditional forms of
research. In 1998, the authoritative London weekly scientific journal Nature published
his article with co-authors Davenas, E., Beauvais, F., Amara, J., Oberbaum, M.,
Robvizon, B., Miadonna, A., Tedeschi, A., Pomeranz, B., Fortner, P., Belon, P., Sainte-
Laudy, J., Poitevin, B. & Benveniste, J., Titled: Human basophil degranulation triggered
by very dilute antiserum against IgE. Nature, 333, 816-818. The published article had
presented astounding results from Benveniste unconventional research. The
controversial article caused heated debates amongst the prevailing scientific dogma in
physics, chemistry and biology.
The inability to consistently repeat his experiments resulted in Jacques Benveniste being
rejected by the scientific community, deprived of laboratory accesses and dismissed
from the INSERM in Paris. These harsh actions from the scientific community would
eventually lead investigative researchers to consider if the Benviniste experiments had
actually damaged the reputation of the institution.
3. J. Benveniste’s research created a divide in the scientific community. Some scientists
continued forward with these experiments in the study of this phenomena discovered by
J. Benveniste. Based on scientific research findings they had also come to declare that
J. Benveniste work was ethical and warranted further investigative research. Contrary to
current knowledge and concepts, opposing scientific researchers would not accept the
results.
In 2014, 26 years has passed since the J. Benveniste publication in the Nature journal,
from which came the discovery phenomena journalists now call "Memory of Water”. The
time has come, to find out who is right.

5. In spite of hardships, Jacques Benveniste continued his research in a personal
laboratory. He had acquired an even stronger character and an iron willpower that
provided him footing to forge new pathways into his scientific research. He began new
experiments - a transmission of signals from biologically active substances through
communication lines.
Following Benveniste’s death in 2004, this direction of his charactered research is
continued and expanded upon by successors alike, resulting in the further affirmations of
the controversial experiments.
6. Based on J. Benveniste observations; the effects of “Ultra-High Dilutions”
were abolished by magnetic fields. He suggested that the signaling of EM
waves are potentially transmittable to cells and water by electromagnetic
means.
In 1991 Benveniste implemented the Electronic
Transmission of “Informational Copies” (IC) of
biologically active substances (BAS) to water.

and support of an outstanding French scientist by the name of Jacques
Benveniste – a scientist, who challenged the dogma of modern thinking, and

12. Brian Josephson, Nobel Laureate for Physics in 1973 invited Benveniste to the
Cavendish Laboratory in Cambridge.
Josephson was quoted: ‘We invited him to learn more about the research which
seems both scientifically interesting and potentially of considerable practical
importance. Jacques definitely recognized there was a problem with reproducing
the effect. The situation seemed to be that in some circumstances you had
reproduction and in others you didn’t; but the overall results were highly
significant.’
Brian Josephson had also made a point that many scientists have a "pathological
disbelief" in certain subjects that ultimately create an unhealthy and unscientific
attitude, thus creating blocks from real truth and real science. Skepticism is at its
best when its advocates do not undermine the conversation of the subject at hand;
but instead, explore all possible ways (conventional and non-conventional) to
understand and verify strange but compelling phenomena. We all have this
challenge as we explore and evaluate the biological and clinical effects of
homeopathic medicines.

13. A recent interview in the journal Science, Luc Montagnier (Nobel Laureate in
2008 for discovering the AIDS virus) expressed real concern about the
unscientific atmosphere that presently exists on certain unconventional
