1. Honda: The Power of Dreams
This ad is awesome because it brings together a legacy of Honda vehicles to life
with a vintage appeal while telling the audience a story. The fact that it was all
hand done only amplifies the diligence of chasing your dreams.
3. This is really, really, really good
• This is the type of ad that you watch on YouTube and it catches your eye to the
point where, once you watch the first 5 seconds you don’t even want to skip it –
it’s that good.
• The ad really exploits the integrity of evolution as it travels the lineage of Honda
to create a compelling series of images, that when brought together, tell a
story.
• I love the fact that there is no dialogue and the images do the talking because
in the end a picture really is worth 1,000 words. They accomplish more with less
which is valuable in itself.
• This ad can truly appeal to any demographic and speak to each demographic
in a different way because of the chronology of the various images.
4. Anything sketchy here?
• The technical application of this ad is superb, but there are some instances
where the brand image becomes lost to an extent. The ad is spectacular, but
there comes to a point in the ad where you lose the brand focus and get lost in
the story and forget it’s about Honda.
• Do you think focusing too much on an ad’s story could detract from the brand
focus?
• Is it okay to lose the brand in an ad to a degree if it the ad is technically and
creatively sound?
• Can you think of any other examples of brands that do this in there ads?
